wordpress.com - 3,104,618 examples of wordpress blogs at the time of this post.

wordpress is by far the most amazing blogging software i've ever used. it's the most powerful, the most secure, and you have the most help compared to any other blogging platform (support.wordpress.org) with forums and hundreds of documents.

i've only heard of people complaining when they switched from flat files to wordpress, and this was only because they couldn't figure out how to customize it, or to transfer their existing pages to it. it's actually pretty simple to do (just pushing "write page" allows you to...gosh, write a page).

also, there are thousands of plugins for it, from spam protection, to current online users, to theme testers.

wordpress for sure! i love it. it's a little confusing if you're doing it on your own ie wordpress.org but wordpress.com is like a xanga except not "asian". :D

oh and i'm pretty sure wordpress.com also lets you add personal pages like an about me and a picture gallery, etc etc. you just gotta know how to set it up.

to josephcohen123: yea wordpress is a very simple blogging device, wordpress.org is a downloadable version of wordpress.com onto your own servers and making themes ia confusing at first but like everyone else you'll get the hang of it like I did:]

I personally love cutenews. I've never had any problems with it.
It's so easy to integrate into a website.. Like a hot knife through butter. :)

@SkyliteX
Why would you put any sensitive information on a public website anyway? -.^

You said personal information could be easily stolen, you didn't say anything about 'hackers' posting adult content/spam on your site.

Really if they did it to me, I'd just find it amusing. I mean, why would you pay so much attention to a website that distributes random internet fodder?

But if you go on the cutenews main forums, they update about the possible hacks that could occur, and often have a fix if you're not too busy to do it. ;)

But as much as I love cutenews, I will admit that worpress, etc are a lot more powerful. ^^

any of the links on wordpress.com leads to a site that's using the wordpress software. you can customize a template to look like anything in the world, which is why it doesn't feel like a typical blogging platform.

So there are not Joomla Lovers? I am wondering nobody even name it once in the thread. I am using Joomla for more than 2 blogs and wordpress on others. It is easy to manipulate content in Wordpress but Joomla has much more features.

i didn't mention Joomla because he only asked for commenting software. Joomla is major content management software with (as you said) many more innovative features. it's also a little more difficult to customize compared to wordpress, and especially compared to cutenews.

I use cutenews too but you have to install anti spammer and it works great. I had a hard time with wordpress when it can to making layouts for it.

You really have to do work on cutenews for it to work without a pain.

I did, but the first one (I think the default one they provide you with if you want it?) didn't work, so I had to get some other one. Now I'm spam-free :]

wordpress is amazing. Cutenews is easy, but prone to spam bots (unless you have captcha). Fanupdate is pretty good, but pretty basic. Haloscan is good, but even more basic!
