Well I've been messing around with the concept of a portfolio for all my work that i've done in school and on my spare time and this is what I have come up with recently. I just wanted to know what people thought and if there is anything that should be tweaked or changed. I feel like the content part (where the news feed and the artwork are displayed) needs a banner or some sort of header but im not sure...maybe it's better left the way it is. well here it is

One minor problem. If you widen the screen resolution, or shorten it, the main info shrinks/inflates.

I looked at the source, and the solution to fixing this problem is using the <p> tag on the text.

I can't really complain about anything. I LOVE the setup. It's very clean and simple. I like the colors too.

I think I fixed this just now so if you happen to check back would you mind verifying...im not sure if I fixed what you were talking about mellow.gif =P

That problem wasn't fixed. Try my solution and use the <p> tag.

I agree with the setup - it looks hawt and simple. Beautiful blue&white color scheme too.

I do, however, think you could have better font choices, particularly for the blog page. I feel as though the blog titles should be bolder and bigger, but not too big. I can see it in bold Arial, lowercase, 16-18 pt size, and with -1 or -2 letter spacing. I dunno, whatever makes the titles stand out more. And for the blog content, maybe you could use 8.5 pt Verdana, or maybe even use 11 pt Georgia or something.

I also really like the simple organization of the works section. All I have to complain about is how the thumbnails are pixelated.

But yeah, great job with everything. The site kinda reminds me of 4impressions.net. :]

it's very nice but imo, i think it's too plan. it doesn't tell you really what the website is all about. it would be a great myspace layout more than a website.

^ it's a portfolio site, and sites showcasing portfolio work should be plain and simple, as to make the actual work stand out.

i like the setup (obviously, i'm a minimalist fanwhore). the only thing i'd really complain about is the cursor 'cause i'm not a fan of anything that's not the default cursor ;X

also, opacity of the main layer could be a little opaque; i think the text against the patterned background becomes a little busy.

i think you have a lot of play room. as suggested in above posts, you could try many other different fonts.

yes but you don't get that impression as soon as you open the site. it looked like a blog to me when i opened it. it doesn't say it's a portfolio for someone or anything like that.

maybe i'm being picky but that's just my opinion of course

First of all - I really really like this. Especially the colors you used.

Although, I thought it looked a lot like a blog as well. I'm sure I wouldn't have if there was some sort of indication that it was a portfolio (other than having to read the "info").

The opacity is also a bit low on the navigation; I didnt's see it at first :P (Maybe I'm just blind - that really could be the case, haha).

& PS, I LOVE your blog layout.

I like the setup of everything. :] The bits of teal are nice, although I do agree with making the opacity of the navigation a bit darker.

In the portfolio section, when I click on the piece and it pops up in the lightbox, I can't exit it unless I hit "esc" on my keyboard. For some reason, it doesn't let me click on the "close x" link.

I love the half flash / css/ html comcept, I hate it when an ENITIRE site is in flash it just pisses me off, but I love your portfolio, especially the contact button, thats neat and the colors/backgrounds:]
good job so far :]

but on some bad notes, I found the navi hard to find, I didnt recognize it until after I tried to turn off the music, but I like everything else. I think you made it very effiecient with lightbox,;]

ah i see. i guess the reason i got confused with your comments is because a lot of my favorite portfolio sites are in the form of blogs. nowadays, it seems more likely that a portfolio would include a blog than not. it could be because of the web 2.0 trend, but i'm just used to seeing portfolios within blogs or vice versa, therefore in my mind, they coexist ;o
