I was looking up some information and definitions for my AP European History review book on Wikipedia (yeah, not very accurate because people can edit and what not) but I've never experienced any problems with that until today when I saw this:
 What are some of your weird wikipedia moments? Or if you don't have any, do you trust wikipedia? |

i was skimming through something one day and one paragraph in particular caught my attention. the phrase "was so gay" was randomly placed throughout... i checked back thenext day and it was gone. it was so weird.
 ever since i try not to use wiki...

Hmm, I've never had a moment like that. I've used wiki for quite a few of my reports and I've never seen any problems or had any. I usually don't take whats on the wiki though, and just use the resource sites that are posted with it.

i used to update the yg family wiki all the time.
wikipedia has admins who keep track of what needs to be fixed. i once "vandalized" a wiki page of one of the admins (long story). i just left the AIM sn of the person i knew vandalized the page the night before, and in his case, he really did f**k up the page a whole lot. |

I love Wikipedia - it's saved my ass countless times over workshops I forget to prepare for or lectures I know nothing about.
Just gotta check your sources if you do use it. Academically, the site is shunned - but IMO they're all pissed off that Wiki knows more than they do without spending it's life in the library and drinking tea. |

yea it can be mad funny though, like on somethings....I forgot. lol but I use it all the time, most of it is actually accurate besides the random edits, its just basically info from all kinds of different sources.
