I didn't have an interview either, and I didn't even have to apply. I was among the first hired using the nomination method. That's not the point; a majority wanted to do the interviews and they do tend to be helpful when it comes to deciding on certain people - often their answer to a particular question can tell us a lot about a person if we're on the fence.

However, as far as the entire interviewing process, this maybe could have been handled better I'll admit. Perhaps when there are more people applying, we could just send out a form of questions and have everyone answer the same thing rather than trying to organize AIM conversations and whatnot. I like that these were mostly candid, but the end result is pretty much the same anyway. If not, then I don't think we should really bother with interviews anymore unless we can think of a better way to organize it.

As far as time, I do apologize for making everyone wait but I can assure you that it's not intentional. Unfortunately we are trying to make the best decisions possible, and I hope all of you can understand that. Hiring sessions typically do take a while and quite a bit of deliberation, so all we're asking for is a bit more patience on your parts. I want to say that the new staff members will be announced by the end of the weekend.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but I think we should have a final answer by the end of this weekend. _smile.gif

i actually agree. it's been two weeks now, and if they haven't been interviewed by now, it says alot. It's a waste of time to interview these people knowing they'll disappear after a week if they get hired like fawaz and mlothepimp. oh wells. i thought the decisions was going to be done on sunday afternoon, but i guess it's lagged and pushed back another week.

Part of the lag is my fault. :[ One potential interview I barely missed last night.

but if someone was serious about being hired, they should've contacted an admin to get the interview done and over with. not wait for someone to get in touch with them...that's just me of course.

Mods are often subject to criticism by members and even other mods. How would you personally deal with getting bad feedback?

We don't even need any more staff as it is. Nothing is even happening around here that warrants more mods. The current ones could just step it up.
