I am starting to have second thoughts about it. I mean, honestly, I think you guys are making people wait, so you can see who really wants it. That is your prerogative of course, but I think that to make people wait, when you guys know you're not even going to consider certain people is just silly. I mean, it wasn't as if the list was actually that long anyway.

We're not making people wait intentionally, we're still discussing candidates and a few haven't been interviewed yet.

I understand where you're coming from with this. Just have a bit more patience is all I have to say to you all. The head staff/admins still haven't interviewed everyone so we're still waiting on those. Once we have the interviews done we should announce who got the new staff positions.

Just hang in there.

I'm really failing to see why interviews were necessary at all. This is not a real job.

I don't know, we've always had interviews...except at the hiring I did XD I guess majority doesn't want to go away from the norm and well through interviews it shows who sticks out the most and who has their priorities straight to have a position like this? In the end, I have to say, this does turn into a bit of a job. And if you guys don't want to deal with that or knowing that you almost have a job then I don't think this place is cut out for you. Yes your doing this work out the goodness of your heart and not getting paid a penny. People staff, your going to have it easy a lot of times, but in the end with the spam fests come up its your job to get rid of them and punish those who started it, and making sure you punish those who don't follow those oh so simple community guidelines. Design staff has a constant job of accepting and rejecting graphics. Sometimes you have to deal with sour people that only want to complain because their not so good graphic got rejected and we're rejecting the "missing piece" rolleyes.gif and well then design staff has to go through the resource center and answer any questions you could help out with..and then in the end try being slightly active in the community center.

So I guess with interviews, we can pick and choose who we think can tolerate doing these things. Who is more out spoken with their opinions so they can be part of the discussions backstage. so on so on

man I ramble on to much

Well no, I've modded before and I've had a job before. The latter warranted an interview, the former did not. There's a difference between a job and and an obligation. If you agree to be on staff, than you've committed yourself to an obligation; however, it's still not a real job. The interviews are entirely superfluous, because the current staff is fully aware of who everyone is already, so how much more is really supposed to be gotten out of an interview? The application process was good, because you can describe what you could contribute as a mod, but interviews are a redundant waste of everyone's time. If you say the right things, or don't say what they want you to hear, does that mean you'll be any more or less of a potentially good mod? Absolutely not. The things that should be looked at are how people show themselves to interact with the community, their activity level, their maturity, etc etc. All of that is a good deal more important than to be able to say, "I possess all these wonderful qualities and look how nice I am! cB is my life!" People who don't like someone are not going to suddenly change their minds because a person had amazing interview responses. And I mean, you already know who is outspoken or not, who can intelligently contribute to conversation or not. Not to mention that someone who got sent questions to answer could sound a lot more professional than someone who got interviewed over AIM. Just saying.
