okay so PATD's new album, Pretty.Odd, came out today & right now i'm on iTunes listening to the 30 second previews & reading the customer reviews. to be honest, it sounds nothing like A Fever You Can't Sweat Out which is sort of dissapointing. like someone said it sounds "beatle-y" but not in a good way. i was thinking about buy the album but now i'm having second thoughts. what do you guys think? here's the link on iTunes to their CD if you want to listen to the album & read the reviews for yourself. so yeah, any thoughts? are you guys going to buy the CD or... ?

I was very surprised someone would say that at first... PATD! sounds like The Beatles? Uh...........

Anyways, I listened to the previews and I'm not very impressed. I can kind of see what that person meant by "Beatle-y", but I think PATD! did a really bad job. I, personally, would not buy or download this album, but it might just be because I've never really liked the band to begin with.

I'm very disappointed with the album. It sounds like there trying to hard to sound like the Beatles. Especially the song "Behind The Sea". I listened to the album once and that's all I intend to listen to it for. It just sounds very old fashioned like something you'd hear in the 1970's. ermm.gif

I was listening to them just now on Myspace and I forgot what the song was called, I think it was Nine in the evening but that was the only one that really caught my attention and I'm not even sure if thats a new song. XD.gif Well, the songs are pretty much similar to their olds ones but I can't help but like the old ones more.

I'm actually comfortable with their new material. I wouldn't really compare them with The Beatles mind you. I do prefer their old stuff though to be honest.

Um....
I had watched 'Across the Universe' the NIGHT before I got this CD.
It was like I had bought a soundtrack from it, not a PATD! CD.

..........I'm not sure what I think about it yet, honestly. I mean, I LOVED their old stuff, and that was what I was expecting. So, now that I've gotten over the shock...and once I realized that this is DIFFERENT...I dunno. It might grow on me. I definately love Pas De Cheval.

It's okay you know, but not terrible either. I mean I think their new sound is decent, a little Beatles-ish feeling, especially in Behind The Sea. So overall, I'd give it a 5.9 so far. I might get it. But from a friend.
