Ex-staff, curious

Well I've been thinking and stuff and I was just curious for all the ex-staffies to come up and post their personal thoughts of when they were on staff and why they stepped down.

Do you think that they asked to much of everyone on staff, considering being on staff is a volunteering thing? Or was it just the people and the conflicting attitudes that always happened when new decisions came up and no one could come to an agreement that made all parties happy?

Please I only want the opinions of ex-staff members or members who thought of becoming staff but put that idea past them (for what reason)

Hmm this can be moved to feedback if you would like. Maybe we can take the responses and think of how to change for the better.

Hey HollY!!!!! (=

I was thinking about applying for staff, whenever it re-opens for hiring staff. But after what I heard of what happen, its like out of control sorta (your bf, and I had a discussion about this, he filled me in) and so that made me like eh, I want to but I don't )= some think just because they are "popular" on a website makes them royality or higher then everyone. It gets me mad because in real life they are like me - regular. Just because they have a title as Admin, or Head Staff doesn't give them a right to break the rules of cB when we can't. It doesn't give them a right to talk down to members.

I'm still unsure, I really want to though but eh.

** but there only some staff I like, and are very nice **

I left staff because I felt like I was in a cesspool of hypocrisy. I did not want to be associated with them anymore, nor have the "responsibility" of being on staff. I wanted to be able to voice my opinion without getting a slap in the face and getting told to use "tact".

I know there were always conflicting views, and that isn't a bad thing. If everyone always agreed it would be so one sided (not to say it isn't).

Oh yeah, despite them telling us time and time again that they were considering what we said and listening to us, it never felt like it had any effect. Also Rachael (the one on staff) pretty much showed what I felt most of the staff was like when she said something along the lines of

Serious replies only. PLEASE.

Thank you Janibel _smile.gif I understand what your talking about. We do need to fix on becoming a stronger staff team and abiding by the rules. And for condescending ways I'm not to sure how to really work on that. I remember when people use to tell me I came off as really condescending but in all honesty I wasn't trying to be. I think it was more or less just letting go of this site is serious business and just have fun and make the members feel welcome and that their most important. _smile.gif

Holly -

Your are like one of the nicest, dependable staff on here. I see you everywhere getting your help in on the forums. That's what cB really needs, and I hope you never step down. CB needs people who will make others feel welcome, do what they are expected to do, and let cB be the fun website I've always loved.

Mike -

Lol, you are one of the best staff here don't ever think of stepping down because of what people say.

WHAT THE f**k IS WRONG WITH YOU?

Do you not read the f**king posts? Seriously. It asks for EX-STAFF MEMBERS to post their opinions. You are the lamest person on cB right now. You're worse than 1angle3.

cB would be better if Suzzette were not an Admin. She is a hypocrite that represents the entire team (hypocrites x 1 million), and I'm sad to see that so late. I never really understood Kryo until now.

I am a hypocrite in some, many regards. But I am not repping the staff "team", and I am not preaching against what I do.

No. No one's worse than 1angel3. You see she has horrible grammar, and tries to debate. When she realizes she can't debate she calls her daddy who is a liberal brainwashed sissy who cannot use grammar, either. Like father like daughter.

But I agree, I hate when people don't read the topic title. People started debating in my Josh (Uronacid) topic backstage, including our favorite admin!

But anyways, I think my main gripe about staff is people were too collective and didn't have individual thoughts. That's not to say all didn't. Most of the individual thinkers are off staff now, with exception of Holly, Steph, and Mona.

Yo, I'm happy. I just feel sad that I had to go look at pictures of someone with shit for a face instead. :/

My opinions are stated in Mod Feedback and Backstage. Holly, you know what I think, so there's no point in replying here.

I thought of applying again, but last time, I stepped down because it was the end of my senior year and I was moving, so I didn't have time for cB. And I think a lot of my "inactivity" had to do with the fact that I would only post where it was necessary, and on a lot of topics, I don't necessarily have a new opinion, so I don't reply.

I'm still sort of the same way, not to mention that I'm extremely busy with school and am not always around. Another reason was, due to the fact that I've been away, I don't know that many people around here anymore and not knowing people makes me feel less-inclined to post and to apply for mod-ship.

^Me, he hated my guts. XD

anyway Thanks Yan. I know what you mean, a lot of people seem to leave when the ones their close to leave as well. Who else are you going to get along with and reflect and laugh about things that happen in the past? Actually I think I was on staff with you o_O Anyway yea inactivity seems to be a big deal with a lot of staff members and old ones. But theres nothing wrong with that of course, I think its great that people get lives outside of createblog.

I don't think it had anything to do with that though. Since I stepped down about a month or so after the James Incident.

Which incident? The one where he went on a drunken posting rampage in backstage, only to find out that it was Anna on his account posting later on?

I am proud to say that I have not! But I may have! I may have accidentily shared my Facebook password.

Anyways, well, I think activity is an important matter. Many staff members believe that posting Backstage = 98% activity, but shouldn't only mentors think this way? The last hiring session must have been a joke, b/c Josh was right. 80% of the people stepped down. They hired someone (Clashing) who never even got around to posting in Mod Introductions, and they didn't demote her until 2 months later. Suzzette is VERY active, in Createblog AND CBC AND AIM, as we can all see. So, no "issue" there, I suppose. Steven, Steph, Spencer, and I did plenty of the work in the community. I have no idea where Sandra was most of the time, and I don't even remember the last time I saw Diana post in the community (while being on staff). Dee, I had no idea that she existed past Backstage. Mike ... I don't even remember. Holly just joined, but she's obviously great. I don't know much about Mark, but he seems to be a laidback guy, reminds me somewhat of Arjuna. Rachael was whining about people critiquing her activity, and I have no clue why. Step up or get the f**k off. It's that simple. If I realized that I would not be able to make a contributive commitment to the site, then I would have left. People are too afraid to leave their little "position" and "title." They think that it's like, the GREATEST THING EVER or something... and Rachael actually had the nerve to ask Holly if she "hated" her. LOL! Holly critiqued her ACTIVITY, not where Rachael's heart belongs. -_-

Summary: People who aren't active, get off staff. Seriously. You don't belong there.
