hey createblog. (:

long time, no see! most of you probably don't even know, or remember me. anyway, i have a question.. more advice needed, actually.

well, i have a boyfriend. and i was walking home with him this evening. i saw my dad's car pass around the corner, so i threw down his hand and obnoxiously looked in the car. i'm pretty sure he looked back at me, his heading moving towards my direction. and well, i was so scared. i still am. i told my brother, who's 23 by the way, that i have a boyfriend and i think dad saw me. at first, i didn't think he'd make a big deal out of it because he's one of those guys that are old, but have a mind of like, a 15 year old. so, i told him & he started to make all these gay remarks. so, i'm like "i'm serious! don't tell ANYONE." my mom comes in while i'm playing counter-strike and he tells her. i'm like, wow you f**king dick! so, my mom says she's gonna tell my oldest sister, who's like, 25, and she's basically my second mom. i'm scared of her the most. well, that happens, so now i'm all worried about my discipline. -________-

does the fact that i'm asian have anything to do with it? haha..

so yeah, basically, i just need some advice to get through this. lol. much appreciated. (:

don't be too worried. if your family is like this all the time then expect it to be like this all the time. they do it because they love you and they care about you. but please, don't try to hide it from them because then you'll be doing things that you know they don't want you to do and before you know it? BAM!! your prego before the age of 17. keep them in the loop and be real about your feelings to them. keep your head up!

Nga!! :)

Uhm, my parents are pretty strict too, so I try to keep the PDA to a zero when they are around, but I'm sure you're dad won't get too upset about you guys holding hands. I bet everything will work out fine though. I mean it doesn't seem as if your brother or mom freaked out (from what you wrote) but I could be wrong. I'm sure your oldest sister understands too because she probably did something similar or experienced something similar when she was around your age.

and i'm not even sure of my mom's reaction. she threatened me by telling my sister, but i don't know dude. D:

Hey Nga! wave.gif But aw, I'm sure it'll be fine. They didn't seem too upset, so it should be fine. Just explain to them you're responsible and that you are old enough to have a boyfriend and whatnot. Good luck!

Nquack, stop it please.

I think you should wait till your parents make the first move. When they do, tell them how long you've been together and that being with him isn't causing you to become distracted and slip in your studies -- since they seem like typical, strict Asian parents, that's probably what they're most concerned about.

Us Asians have it the worst.

Like everyone else said, I don't think they seem too upset about it. I think it's strange how your mom threatened to tell YOUR SISTER about it, though you said she's like your second mom but, your mom IS the mom and it's strange how she uses your sister as a threat. I don't really think it's a big deal. Just sort it out with them, maybe you can negotiate something with them.

Oh, and, your brother's a d*ke.

it seems really unfair, but i guess life is ultimately, completely, and perfectly unfair.
you've just got to get through it, in the end of the day its up to you what you want to do, because its your mind and heart and all that.
i agree with Synesthesia, by letting them make the first move you can put accross your argument suited to theirs to win them over(: sly.gif

haha, yeah. that's what i'm planning to do. i totally lied to my mom, telling her that my brother is stupid & i meant a friend that's a boy. she told me that he said he's seen me with guys all the time & he barely leaves his basement because he has his girlfriend. -___- ugh, what a jackass. anyway, yeah. so, i'm pretty sure she believes me on that. my dad hasn't said anything about me walking home with a guy yet.. maybe he didn't think it was me. o_o i don't know, i still hope they aren't strict about letting me go out. ><"

Weren't you 15 3 years ago, nyeah?

Anyway, if you're planning to make a long-term commitment with this dude, tell the parents ASAP. If you don't, and they find out a year later, they'll be even more pissed at you for holding out on them. ( And there's some parents who get all pissy about trust and whatnot, but Asian parents are rarely like that. =\ ) If this dude's just a fling, then it doesn't matter what your parents think because you two aren't going to last long enough for them to make an impact in your relationship anyway.

whistling.gif Ouch, thats why I try to keep my PDA to a minimum. Well, how long have you been going out for? You might wanna wait it out before telling your rents the whole truth about you two. Asian parents tend to think we'll get pregnant and not go to college. sad.gif You're 16? Wow, I thought you were older.
