So I am using cutenews as my blogging program, and it is being spammed by bots in my comments. The other day I had to delete 55 comments from one of my blog entries that were spam. How can I prevent spam from being posted in my comments? I've tried several codes and they haven't seemed to work.

Im not sure how to do this but I heard one site putting up a captcha system to prevent this and I was also on the cutephp forums yesterday and they said that this problem was solved 0_0 they might still be working on it but they I think they are working on it:] Just as advice but I would post a topic in the cutephp website instead of createblog because I think u might find better answers:]

Yes; Cutenews is known for its annoying spam bots. If you're lucky, you don't get them (like me), but my current cutenews is from a 3rd installation or so. Like Kevinkatalyst said, CAPCHA is the answer. You can find how to install captcha somewhere on the CutePHP forums, just search Google or something. There's also an antispam tutorial located on daintystar - http://daintystar.com/learn_cnantispam.php and I'm sure there's tons more out there. If you see someone with capcha on their Cutenews, ask them how they did it. Otherwise, switch to Wordpress!
