Seriously. I know some people that review are on, but i have to wait a day to find out that its rejected. :( Seriously. It would be nicer if things could be reviewed faster

I think that the reviewers are going as fast as they can (don't hate me for saying that XD).

Do you find that it always takes a long time or is it something you find happening more recently? I ask because with spring break and what not, people may not be around as often as usual. I know of one staff member who will be out quite a while due to a vacation.

Also, just because you see someone online that has the ability to review, doesn't mean that they are in a position to review at that time. I'm at work right now, for example, and most images are blocked. I know Dani sometimes will come here while she's at work and she may experience the same thing as well.

Also, as pointed out already, sometimes the queue is heavier on some days than others.

That's actually a good thing. I've logged on to see more than 60 at a time waiting (graphics) and some days more than that. I really think that the DS are doing a great job with the queue.

Normally if I submitted a graphic/tutorial it would be rejected by now. And do layouts take longer to review?

I'd say that layouts could feasibly take longer, because there's a bit more in the review process. At least that's my opinion, based on experience. I'm not at all an expert at coding, so I take more time with layouts. Also, with jocking in mind, sometimes you scour through codes.

Again, if this is something sporadic your experiencing, I wouldn't be terribly concerned. If, however, this is something you experience a lot, I'd be more concerned. I hope that makes some sense.

I have. I've had to wait days (or weeks) depending on whatever. The only graphic I haven't had to wait to get rejected was one called 'Broken'. That one got shot down not long after i submitted it. :P

Haha.

Weeks? I ask because honestly, I have yet to see anything sit in the queue that long. XD I'm sure soon enough some DS and/or HS/admins will come along to this thread and give further input.

you go here. scroll down & next to "queued" is the number of graphics queued. you can do the same thing for layouts, scripts, & tutorials. if you want to know how to get there to check the queue, simply hover over the "submit" button at the top under your "My Account" link & select what category you'd like to see _smile.gif

To give you a bit of insight, reviewing 19 layouts would probably take me about half an hour because probably one of those might end up being accepted, and the rest I have to write out some sort of paragraph explaining why it's being rejected. It's not because we're lazy or anything, and I'm not trying to be snippy but it's funny to me that someone would complain about having to wait a day or two when the submission page says that it could take up to a week.

The fact that you're getting a response in 24-48 hours is pretty good, in my opinion. And the people who do go through the queue work really hard on it, because, believe it or not, it's a very stressful process for people who are merely volunteering their time.

Again, I realize you were simply voicing a concern, and I'm trying not to be defensive, but that's my side of the issue if it helps you understand at all. :)

You have an issue with waiting a day to find out if your graphic has been accepted or rejected? I don't see how this should even be a problem, really. We're not robots; we're human beings who have to take the time to thoughtfully explain why things have been rejected. It takes a lot of time to preview every single layout and explain why they've been rejected. It's not a simple reject/accept button, and I think you need to understand that, as well.

Well I don't know if this has been said or not, but it takes patience. Were low on staff right now or well we usually are on design side of things and sometimes it may take longer. Also this week is spring break for a lot of people so there may be fewer people online and I haven't had internet the past couple of days.

Usually when I get on theres around 30 layouts in the queue and double or more graphics.

^I see nothing wrong with her reply, she's telling you like it is and you need to understand the exact process that we have to deal with.

I'm just being straightforward with you. It's time-consuming, especially when you have pages of graphics/layouts that we all know is going to get rejected.

That is definitely not a good attitude! /end mom

Seriously, MissHygienic is one of our best reviewers on staff. I'd rather her take more time than less because she actually cares about what is being accepted and what is being rejected. Not just her actually, I'd rather everyone who reviews to spend the time than to knee-jerk accept or reject something.

It's in your favor, actually. The majority of submissions we get (in general) is pretty bad, to be honest. I'm not saying that there isn't talent, it's mostly the lack of experience I think. With that being said, you do realize that there's more that goes into reviewing that clicking "accept" or "reject", right? One of the more common criticisms that staff has received in the past is that the there is less than adequate criticism in the rejection, sometimes no reason at all for the rejection. Our staff members take the time to at a minimum give a reason why something was rejected and in many cases, give criticism and advice as to how to improve upon a submission.

I'd take into consideration that our design staffers are real live people, and I'm sure the work can be overwhelming. When it comes down to their personal lives versus how cb's queue is doing, I'd rather them take care of themselves first.

juust my opinion.

As superstitious mentioned, a lot of us are on Spring Break and have a lot on our plates from school and outside personal commitments. We are people too. That being said, I think we've been pretty efficient in the queue.

Usually, when I get in there, there are about 60+ graphics/layouts. And even though simplistically, the decision boils down to 'Accept' and 'Reject' there's a lot of mental effort that goes into analyzing the graphics and layouts, trying to determine if people will like and use the graphic/layout, and formulating rejection messages that state the reason of rejection without stepping on any toes.

And quite frankly, as mentioned above, there's a whole lot more of rejecting going on than accepting so there's a lot of effort that goes into every decision.

If it makes you feel any better, the images and layouts that the Design Staff submit go through the same process, and take as long to get to as any other submission.
