Do you think if you have a myspace layouts site where you can get codes for layouts and stuff for people to take for free your making money of the layouts if you have ads on your site?

Make sense?

Do you think that counts as making money of the layouts?

or just the site?

Thanks guys!

Well, you're not charging exclusively for the use of the layouts - but you are making a profit from the hits that your site gets (and refers via the ads).

I would say that, whilst your layouts aren't directly making money, your site is making profit from having them.

I think that only really matters if the content isn't your own, because technically the money is coming from the ads, but if you were using someone's graphics/layouts on your website, and gaining money from ads, I think that person would definitely think of it as you making money from their work.
I'm obviously not saying that's what you're doing. lol. I have just wondered about that situation before.

I think the best way to word this is to say that it is a correlation. Or more like a two way correlation. The more visitors you get, the higher the chance they'll click on an ad. The higher the chance of an ad click, the higher the chance of more $ credited to your Adsense (or whatever it is) account.
