i had to write a poem regarding diversity in my school, so i just wanted feedback. feel free to criticize to make it better :)
thanks One Breath Assimilation they say Is the answer to discrimination, discrimination- the reason why I can’t walk without Thinking, thinking- My skin, my age, my gender What are they thinking? Sea of faces Fast walking Speed talking Oh, slow down Down Goes the walls That are oh so brittle scatter the world with bags of skittles taste the rainbow and allow the flow of different people Best kept secret: There’s beauty everywhere. So lend me your pair of shoes and I’ll walk your mile breathe your style Then maybe it’ll really be One nation under God, Indivisible While individuals can still spread their own chronicles Intertwined, in my mind is the hearts of all our people so learn to love him, who is not the same as her and her, who does not believe in your trusted Word then maybe acceptance in diversity and your own personality can breathe, finally. |
