Why close topics in feedback without asking others if the issue is resolved? Options

I find it kind of rude, but that's just me. When things are closed prematurely, I often have things I feel like saying (maybe that's why I created a new topic, who knows?! I do, and it is.) but I can't because someone who didn't post that they closed the topic, closed it.

Well yes, if the problem isn't resolved, then the topic shouldn't be closed. But sometimes it can be a mistake, and simply just PM a staff member to re-open it.

I wouldn't have closed the topics, but we all have different ways of handling topics. Perhaps the idea behind closing them was because the question(s) had been answered and it was assumed that the topic was resolved.

Personally, I wouldn't close the topic unless if it's a specific problem that the poster has and they reply that it's resolved. if there's other posters in that topic with the same problem and it hasn't been resolved for them, it should stay open. Usually, if you just PM a mod they'll open the topic back up.

speaking of topics being closed, it may be hard work but, i think all topics before 2006 (not 2006 topics, though) should be closed, unless it's still active. just to cut down on the "idiot, why did you bump a 5 year old topic?" 's. :]

Contrary to popular belief, we really aren't obligated to explain all our decisions with you guys. Sure you can ask, and we might answer, but I'm just saying. it's not like we just make rules up as we go along just to f**k with peoples heads. we have the forum's best interests in mind.

And honestly, you said "fair enough" or something to that effect. That pretty much signifies that the question has been answered and the issue resolved. That, imo, isn't even an assumption, it's a deduction. I don't even really need your permission to close topics either.
