I sure don't.

I was doing tutorials for my graphics class, and a lot of people named their layers. I just leave them at their default names. >.>;;

Haha, and for my graphics project, I was like the only person with my layers as "Layer 1, Layer 1 Copy, Layer 2, etc."

Haha, I hope I don't get graded for that. :o

Yes, I do, I have a lot of layers to be safe for all of my graphics, so I have to name them to not get mixed up.

Yes, I will stop and name my layers if I start to end up with a lot of them. It makes things easier to find. Especially if I have a few different repeating images.

yah i started that habit, just 'cause a lot of the times, i have no idea what's in a layer just by looking at thumbnails on the menu. and usually 'cause a lot of my projects need specific layers in a certain order. having the default names would totally screw me over ;o

if they're illustrator vectors, then i don't name every single layer (obviously). but i do group them and name the groups.

Yes, partly because my yearbook advisor blows a fuse if I don't. But it's helpful, and a professional standard.

Nah, you're not alone.
Only time I name mine is if I have text on different layers. If I do, then I just type part of the text as the name so I know which is which.
Other than that, I just go by the little preview. xD

Ahhh I need to >.<
I get unorganized...but usually when I'm making something I'm not really paying attention to the names of my layers. If I can't tell what it is by the little preview in the thumbnail thing, then usually I'll name it.

Yep, that's exactly what I do, the previews are good enough for me.

Sometimes. Only if I have a lot, or sometimes I just find it fun to name. o_O.

If I'm doing something important I do, just so I dont confused myself and its easier to know what things are. If its just fooling around, I usually dont care.

I do sometimes, when I have little tons of little tiny things all on different layers that you can't see in the preview. I don't really make along of things that require me to do that though. biggrin.gif

I never ever do... I'm too lazy as well... Bbut I do occasionally group them, like in my typography assignment that had over 500 layers.

I stopped renaming my layers not long after I got used to Photoshop. And Toby, you don't need to name your layers because you're already pro.

But yeah. I let myself suffer through remembering the default layer names and toggling the visibility for each layer. I do group them, though, when it starts to get messy.

Never. An average layer count for me is about 30 layers a-piece. I usually remember what is what.

I do recommend it if you are just starting out with Photoshop, though.

Most of the time I won't name them unless I have a lot of different layers. Like whenever I make collages I do label my layers.

I hate naming the layers >.>

Takes too much brain cells for me haha. But I do it at school cause I get graded for that.

At home I just memorize which layer is what.
