make sure you're using the old version of xanga, and not the themes. i'm not sure how to turn the themes on/off, but look around.

This is a common Xanga Themes problem - to view your custom layout you first need to delete your theme.

To delete a theme, Click Here.

Then do the following (as you usually would)

QUOTE
1) Log into www.xanga.com/claf (your look and feel) and scroll down to Header.

2) Select 'Input Own Header HTML' from the dropdown menu.

3) The blank space below is where you enter the code for your layout.

My bad:

QUOTE
You don't need any help to turn off your themes!

Just go to your themed public site - if you're signed in, this link should take you there:
http://www.xanga.com/home2.aspx

Go ahead and click on the "Edit this page" link at the top of the page. See the checkbox on the left side that says, "make this your active theme"? Just uncheck that, and hit save.

Now your theme should no longer be active!
