What this man can do on a piano is downright scary.

He uses too much pedal, IMO. "Duffle Bag Boy" was insane, though.

I've heard of David Sides before, but I never really took the time to look at all his other stuff. It's pretty cool to see him put his own twist on what's playin' on the radio.

It's kind of cool how he translates the songs onto the piano, but technically speaking, he's not that good of a pianist. It's only the novelty of the music he plays which makes him popular.

I find that when R&B, hip hop and pop songs are translated to piano, particularly the faster ones, they are incredibly repetitive and annoying. The simple way you can create a sense of building sound to a climax to mimic a pop song with the piano is with the use of heavy chords and pedalling. After a while it's just overdone.. That's just the nature of the piano.

I do love his rendition of Buy You a Drink, though. I love the run in the left hand in the chorus.

I've heard him play before, and he's an okay pianist. My cousin showed me his YouTube and said that he was so "godly" in piano. I've never seen anyone play these type of songs so I guess it's good. I like his "Icebox" by Omarion, just because I personally like that song, and his "Because of You" by Ne-Yo is pretty neat too. I would never be able to play piano like him. :x. His Buy You a Drink was okay, too. I need to go look up some of his piano music and watch it again to refresh my memory. XD.gif
