I believe that if both parties know what they are getting themselves into, then it is all good. Of course, there are some people who differ, but I am not one of those. I know a few people who are in interreligion marriages, and they are doing quite fine. I still don't think that it would get as much scrutiny, as an interracial one would.

Aside from interracial marriages, What's everyone's opinion on interreligion marriages. In my opinion, I believe all religions are one but they're split into their own versions. So marrying someone of a different religion doesn't bother me, nor would God frown upon it. In fact I find it beautiful when two whole different people from two different parts of the world with different religions get to know each other. Because there's a lot of education there... there's a lot you can learn not just from a personal level, but historical, ethical, religious, the list goes on. Unfortunately the only religion that disagrees with inter-religious marriages is Judaism. They believe they're the chosen beings (chosen by God) and that no sub-human (non-Jew) is worthy of marrying a chosen being. |

Isn't Islam against marrying out of religion? as so my girlfriend tells me which is making me go nuts. God never said that. The reason why Muslims don't marry out of their religion is because they want to keep the religion surviving. To keep the traditions within the family and religion strong and healthy. It's not a sin to marry outside of the religion. |

Do you have sources for that one? I find that one very interesting. My gf said it's actually wrong to marry out of religion.

Do you have sources for that one? I find that one very interesting. My gf said it's actually wrong to marry out of religion. Ask her to pull out her Qur'an and prove it to you. There's no way I can prove information that doesn't exist in the Qur'an. There may be literature where someone asks if it's wrong and most likely they'll get the same answer I just gave you. Reason being is, if God never said it and no religion has it in their holy texts... then it's A.O.K. I've already read the Qur'an in it's entirety. There's no scripture where it claims that God made a law nor told a Prophet that marrying outside of the faith is prohibited. Though it is best to stay away from one who is a non-believer, because a parent who's a non believer could potentially destroy the healthy faith of their family and religion. |

Define non-believer. An atheist or satanist in other words. But many atheist won't admit their origins. Some will admit it. Unfortunately the dictionaries of modern day only claim that satanist is a worship of satan. In reality it's the faith of what satan believed. To neglect God because that is true free will. Satanist's point of view in free will is to do whatever you feel is right for your own selfish pleasure and happiness whether its good or bad and not feel guilt. And that the standards of God is a contradiction to true free will. |

um satanists aren't non-believers. they obviously believe, but they're playing for the other team. Depends on who you're talking about, actually. Theistic Satanists (which the sort your suggesting probably never even really existed in any sort of actual church) are worshipers of pagan gods and goddesses (not always antagonists to Christianity, per se). These sorts of people are very rare, especially today. LaVeyan Satanism (adherents are part of the "Church of Satan") is the more popular of the two. Followers practice hedonism, objectivism, and atheism. They actually are non-believers. The title is merely to make fun of Christianity and use an important and recognizable symbol as an icon for their church. It works, apparently. |

Yeah, it helps if the "grace" is coming from both sides. Most people when they're trying to "correct" other members are actually just trying to "pwn" them, and they do it with a lot of arrogance - which then sets the ball rolling for some action packed cb drama.

Isn't Islam against marrying out of religion? as so my girlfriend tells me which is making me go nuts. That's a really good question. I'm not against interreligion marriages, but I think it would be hard for me as a Christian to marry someone who doesn't at least share the same spiritual views that I do. I think it is possible, but if there is a belief in multiple deities or worship of an object I probably wouldn't be able to marry someone like that because I'd spend time evangelising to them and that's not what they would want. However, I knew a guy who was Islamic and he had an arranged marriage, but I knew a young woman who was Islamic as well, but was free to marry whoever she wanted. It's like all religions in someways, some people are just stricter than others when it comes to their religious values. |

I was expecting you to flip out on me and call me out on what I posted lol. Yeah, it helps if the "grace" is coming from both sides. And you... I don't like you. Your posts have negative intentions and tend to be so horrifically ignorant and immature at times. As a moderator (you), let me ask you this... is there anyway I can block you so that anytime you make a post, I don't have to read it? I sort of... would like to have you disappear from my computer screen. |

Do you have sources for that one? I find that one very interesting. My gf said it's actually wrong to marry out of religion. Wrong? No. My best friend's parents are Muslim and Catholic. Both are faithful devouts to their respective religions. In fact, her Muslim Dad plays a huge part in their Muslim community and no one has a problem with his Catholic wife. Not that I can see. Back to work. |
