I'm tired of this assault weapons ban. Every American citizen should be able to own an HK-MP5 SMG if they so desired.

Even though I'm a conservative, I think I'm going to vote for Obama in the democratic primary in hopes of Hilary not getting the nomination.

(By people, I mean family members who rely on me for political information. I'm still trying to get my friends to register to vote.) |

Some girls that I go to school with want Hillary to be the next president because she is a woman. That's not a very good reason to want someone to lead your country...

I often find it difficult to define my political views, and I'm very careful about choosing a party affiliation. My friend, who is a Master's Student at George Washington U., and I had a long conversation (combine 80% of the topics in the debate forum), had a talk about stances on certain issues.
-I like guns -War is never a necessity, especially when the motives are as shady as this one, but if you find yourself in one, dominate mercilessly (which the US isn't doing) -Death penalty fine by me, just have your facts straight. Set a precedence and be consistent. -No, no, abortion; but it's a case-sensitive, woman's choice -Tax the rich, and give to the poor, but not too much, because people take handouts for granted -No child left behind? Focus less on standardized testing and more on well-rounded curriculum -Help the poor and starving your own country before you help others. You can lend a hand if yours is broken -Morals? America is about making money. -Church.................................State. Keep it that way. America is a melting pot of cultures, don't impose a single lifestyle on everyone. -the list goes on I fluctuate from conservative to liberal, based off that list, but I feel as though policy needs to be considered with a level head, while putting common sense into effect. |

wow, thats interesting. I haven't gotten a chance to read all of them but heres my opinion on some of the issues so far:
-Abortion, it shouldn't be the state's choice, it should be the mothers. So they should stay out of it. -First of all, immigrant are what made up America to begin with so I don't know why they're trying to enforce laws to prevent them to come here. -Let people marry who they want, who cares if they're straight or gay? There are just as many gays as there are straigt. -I'm glad they're trying to do something about the energy consumption or else we're gonna be using candles pretty soon. Now I'm off to read the rest! |

Sorry I think we should take away peoples ability to vote if their only reason is "shes a woman" "hes black" "hes a catholic jew".
There needs to be more backbone as to why you are electing that official other then that.Remember this is your leader for up to 8 years. |

This site gives you a brief quiz about certain hot button political issues. Based on your answers, it calculates which candidate suits your requirements. To no surprise, I got Barack Obama, and Hilary Clinton was pretty far down the list. |

Brandon I share very similar views as yourself. I am also very much against the Kyoto Protocol. What about yourself?

Diana, what's a Catholic Jew? :D
I also think people do need to remember that a the candidates are only running for a 4 year term. If the president does a bad job, he (or she) should lose the next election...but since we ended up with 2 terms of Bush...eh. I've taken tons of candidate/ideology quizzes before, but I generally get Kucinich. Given that he's out of the race now, though, I got Obama on this one. Hilary was one point behind. Then Giuliani and Gravel were tied behind them...which is odd. Then Paul, Romney, McCain, Huckabee (since I already named off half my results). That link doesn't actually work, by the way. |

In order for every city in the country to be as clean as Kyoto, we'd become an Aldous Huxley novel. Tree huggin' f*gs. /coonery |

Woot. I love how it excludes China and India, because they're clean.
