So my dad came up to "visit" me today. It's not really a visit as he has a business meeting on Monday, but he came up a few days early and I'm pretty sure it was to check up on me.

I showed him my dorm and everything and took him out for lunch then helped him get set up at an inn, and had just about enough of him going on and on about how he thinks I'm too distracted during school and not studying enough, blah blah blah.

He just called a few minutes ago because he wanted me to go with him as he went shopping for a jacket (we're in nyc and it's cold and he doesn't have a coat) and at that point, I just didn't want to see him at all and listen to the same thing over and over again, so I was like "no, I have to read then sleep" when really, I'm just bumming around my room, on cB, and talking to some people in my hall that just came back.

But now, I feel really bad.

I'm such a bad daughter.

Nah, don`t feel bad.
My parents annoy me a lot right now, and i want to move out more than anything.
I think it`s only natural to ignore them and feel bad.
But i think next time, put a little more effort when you guys hang out. That way your dad won`t think much of the prior situation.

i sorta wish i could ditch my dad
he thinks of me as a 12 year old
unable to do anything on my own
my mum treats me like an adult
and i enjoy that, she gives me some slack
but my dad, even though i warned him, persists on insisting im 12

i guess its coz i only see him every second weekend
and he doesnt have as much time to get used to new things going on with me
like i got my braces and 3 fortnights in a row
he asked me what i had on my teeth and he was like "oh yea, you got braces"
a few times hes asked to talk to me on the phone and he says"No sorry i want to talk John"
I'm like "it is John" and hes like "oh yea, your voice broke"

its annoying but it cant be helped
