Well, this is suppose to be an introductory blog, so I'll keep it relatively short. I'm sure that will make some of you very happy shifty.gif

Yes, my handle is "travel-expert". In theory that means I'm suppose to know something about travel. With almost 30 years experience as a travel agent, tour operator, tariff specialist, airline sales rep and an airline manager (and I haven't talked about all the other things I've done), let's just say I've been around the block a few times and have learned a few things along the way that most people don't know and I believe might help you when you take your next trip. I say maybe because I don't profess to know everything and since everyone is unique, what I talk about you may already know...then again, it might not. Who knows?

My goal is to contribute to this community by providing information, news, updates, advice or warnings about anything related to travel, especially airline travel, since a good deal of my experience is airline related. That said, I've traveled to a lot of places and on a lot of different modes of travel, from Concorde (a life experience) to an Alfa Romeo 164 on the autostrades of Italy (a life and death experience) to the back of a camel on the side of an active volcano on the island of Lanzarote (ah, at least I can say I've done it?). Have I done it all? Nope, but I know people who have been to the places I haven't.

My only request, if you blog me back, please frame your questions/comments in a way that will benefit the whole group. If you have a specific question about what you are doing, please don't hesitate to PM me and I'll do what I can to answer your question...or refer you to someone who can. I am not a travel agent (at least not right now), so I can't make travel arrangements. I'll be talking about travel agents in my next blog so stay tuned for that.

So when you can, stop by, give us a whirl and don't be afraid to tell me what you think; just warn me first if I need my kevlar vest. wink.gif

With that I'll say "ciao for now"
Dave
