Rundown:
The most popular and widely accepted Known Unknown for years is that the United States had probable cause that Suddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. The Bush Administration made the decision to invade Iraq based on the grounds that: -Iraq had WMDs and planned to invade countries surrounding Iraq -Hussein's style of dictatorship was detrimental to the lives of not only his people, but of those in surrounding countries -His actions would disrupt international business; oil -an 'out-of-hand' Iraqi dictator wil eventually push him to the brink of war with all who opposed, which, in turn, would bring to light US prior monetary support of Suddam Hussein Peep CNN.com http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/01/27/saddam.cbs/index.html The truth comes out that ol' boy didn't have any WMDs. Well, that was a given to any of us who followed politics, as well as the war. Read through the mumbo-jumbo, and Saddam was just trying to act tough for the bully around the corner; Iran. Why didn't we invade Iran? There were no alleged Al Qaeda ties in Iran, just a dictatorship that kept their dealings on the low. The forgotten war in Afghanistan is meant to bring those responsible for terrorist acts against the US and Britain, but somehow, someway, the American public had lead to believe that Iraq played a major role in this. Which, they didn't. So what now? Saddam wasn't an alter boy, and as ruthless as he and his sons were, his contorted view of diplomacy worked for the country. He's dead, Iraq is in shambles and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM is a free-for-all for mercenaries, black market goods, and a lot of homemade explosives that kill off people on a daily basis. Shouldn't Iran be the focal point now? No, wait, that's not in the budget. The US has already borrowed billions. Maybe if they let the drug lords do their jobs, we'd have more money to play with in our government. Hold up, OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan is still a bust until we find some closure, and not let American, British, Australian, etc forces be sniped left and right. Ok, you're losing me here, what about the growing conflict with North Korea? They have an Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as support from China. Those guys have the Pacific Theater of Communism on lock, and they want to kick the door down on Japan's house so they can rape, pillage and make that paper stack, only to assert their authority as the Asian Powerhouse. Damn, Obama, you're going to have a lot of work to do. And if Hilary wins, well, I'll get the sniper rifle ready, just don't do me like they did Lee Harvey Oswald. Discuss. |
