Thought i'd just showing these 2 wallpapers first. Made them very clean, wanted to keep it simple. thumbsup.gif

I was thinking about maybe trying to make them into a layout, but I haven't the slightest clue where to start with that crap.

c&&c?

i like the idea, however they both feel kinda blurry. if they were crisp they would be much better in my opinion. also i think the text would look better as a solid color. it feels like some of the colors of the letters aren't really pulled from the image and don't match...or something, i can't really put my finger on it. over all though i think it's a good idea and has a lot of potential.

I actually don't like the font, and I would have chosen a more clean-cut, smooth, straight-forward font one rather than a "fun, energetic" one with odd E's. I think you over-blurred the images far too much and it lost its clean, crisp look it otherwise would have had.

Edit: Brooklyneast got it before me. Bastard.

Haha yeah, there werent enough colors in the image for all the letters, so I put a few that were close enough. If you saw the text as a solid black or red//blue it would seem monotone and very bland.

I see what you mean with the blurrynessicity( whistling.gif ) Maybe went a little overboard trying to brighten it up.

Crisp doesn't work with these brushes, they are very soft. stubborn.gif

Edit:
I'll show a 'crisp' version in green. =]

For me, I think it's the font choice and the font colors that throw me off. But good job on the abstract thingy next to the text.

Heres a green version, as crisp as these brushes get. A different text with a one color tone. IMO The blurry Abstract is better, looks more soft. thumbsup.gif

Font choice is much better there. The image is still blurry. Now it's time to find some new brushes. Have you tried searching for 3D brushes on DeviantART, or anything of the sort? Large Photoshop brush resource there.

Yeah, thats the only place I get my brushes // etc from. There were 2 brush sets the said "hey, download me, I look like energy//flow" these, and other ones, but they are wayyyyy softer, If you're looking for crisp you wouldn't like them lol. IMO 'crisp' wouldn't really be 'energy'. Id' image energy to be soft and flowy//glow. Just IMO though.

And btw, I must say // Excellent critism at this site, major props. thumbsup.gif Can't get it anywhere else.

Let me see if I can find an example of what I have in my mind to give you an idea. Likewise, you're an excellent recipient of "criticism."

Okay, here is an example of what I "see" when I think of 3D. It's from pixelgirlpresents.com under the 3D section.

You see that? Has that flare/rays/3D thing going on, but it's still very sharp and clear. I don't think you should get technical with 3D designing. I know what you mean by having the text and image weave together, but comparing and contrasting your wallpaper's "crispness" to that one? There is no competition.

In the end, though, it's all your choice, but if you were going to, like, display it for a portfolio, something clearer would be for the best.

^ Umm, MissHygienic, that's a 3D render made from C4D. The wallpapers that Excel made, there abstract grunge brushes and then you just add color to it.

I like the red one the best since it's one of my favorite colors. Haha.

I also like the font with it and the colors on them. What font is that BTW?

The green looks alright, I prefer the original ones. The font looks weird on it too.

I like the blurryness of these, it gives off a vibe.

If it was crisp IMO it wouldn't give off that kind of energy flow vibe thingy.

I like the blurriness as well. It gives the shapes a softness that still conveys vibrance and energy. I like the colors and font a lot. :D
