this is probably the dumbest question a person could ask..
but is there a way to make hair grow out longer & faster?[x

my grandmother made me cut my hair and now its up to my shoulders.
before i had it more than halfway down my back and i LOVED it.
now i hate my hair and i look ugly -_-
thats why i want to know if theres a way to make hair grow out longer & faster lol.

No. Each person's hair cycle is different, and some people, in their DNA, have the ability to grow out longer hair than others. Therefore, I can grow out my hair down to the tail of my back, while others may only grow their hair down to only the middle of their back. If you trim yours often, then it *can* possibly grow out faster, but you cannot make it any longer than it is without hair extensions.

not cut, just trimmed. depending on your type of hair, it should get trimmed every 5 to 9 weeks.
my hair grows a matter of inches in a month, and the more it gets trimmed, the faster it grows. during good financial periods, i get mine trimmed up a bit every 4 weeks.

Trimming your hair often won't necessarily make your hair grow faster, that's a myth. Not to say that it's not a good idea to do so in order to keep your hair healthy.

I think that, regardless, within a few weeks your hair will probably sort of "grow into" you, or you'll figure out something to do with it that makes it look more like you. That's kinda how all haircuts work.

My dad has this sort of shampoo that you use daily and it makes your hair grow longer. D: It's 100% full of plants or something. It really does work. But you could try getting extensions.

how is that a myth?
keeping it trimmed (every 5 to 9 weeks) cuts out the dead ends, letting the hair grow. you really shouldn't trim your hair too much, 'cause it can be a bad thing. but once again, regular trimming cuts out the dead ends and your hair will be healthier, able to stand up to heat and moisture better, grow faster and more even, and so on..

i believe sebastian makes "elastic" shampoo or something like that, which supposedly stretches out your hair and makes it look longer.

i think it's a bunch of bullshit, but sebastian makes pretty good hair products from my experience so why not, haha.

^x2 I thought your hair grew at the roots, not the ends? I've always heard that getting your hair trimmed will make it longer was a myth. Just like how brushing your hair 100 times a day was a myth... from when they wouldn't bathe for weeks at a time.

I think you should just give your haircut some time to settle and let yourself adjust to it. I used to have really long hair and now that I've cut it, I like it.

your hair does grow from roots, but keeping the ends trimmed and healthy is vital to the health of the roots, too...
it's really not completely a myth. i mean, it all depends on how healthy your hair is, how healthy you can keep it, how often you get it cut/trimmed, how much heat you put on it, how much product you put in it, how often you wash it...the list goes on. so really it's not a myth. over time, it will become more healthy and healthier hair=prettier and longer hair. :]

This happened to me a month or so ago. Exactly the same situation, basically. I realised there wasn't a way to make it miraculously long again :( But after a few weeks, the short hair just grew on me I guess. You'll get used to it!

If not, I guess you'll just have to wait, and see if your DNA works in your favour.

You can get extensions... I've heard that eating healthier can make your hair grow faster too.
