http://www.myspace.com/dfscollege This is the layout that the organization called Dean's Future Scholars (of the university of nevada reno) has requested. The request was simple: 1. fun and youthful 2. have all of the information they wanted 3. have a small slideshow of 50 100x100 pictures of students This organization means a lot to me, because they are paying for me to go to college (they awarded me $10,000). In return for making this site, they will enter my little sister into the program. ~nikki btw, go easy on me. i'm a rookie. |

It's not bad. I can see how you wanted to make it look fun, but I just think you should've tried not to make it too rainbow-y. I believe it is possible to still make it look fun and welcoming while keeping a fixed color scheme in mind. The wood tiles behind the layout looks pretty creative. The little tab thingies look good too, but I don't think you should make them look too bright.
And yeah.  Pretty good for a rookie.

ah.. thanks for the comments.
about the rainbow.. it was sort of a request (ultra colorful and fun). it doesn't have to suit everyone. the kids were pretty happy with it, and that's all that matters. |

I really HATE the glow on the cirlces in the banner up top. Otherwise, it's decent.

The only thing that bugs me somehow, is the gradient on the arrows  Other than that it's gorgeous. |
