No, you can create several images on CS3, but then you'll have to transfer it to ImageReady in order to merge them together into a .gif. You know there are a lot of free programs out there that do this for you? You don't necessarily need ImageReady. I don't think it came with CS3 because when I got it, I didn't have that on my start list, either.

If you really want it, I suppose you can downgrade to CS2.

Oh, good. I don't create animations, so I never looked into the Extended part. Glad you solved it.

So the ability to make animations is only on CS3 Extended? And there isn't a separate program for it, it's within CS3 Extended?

I just read something about CS3 and Extended diferences and it says that CS3 includes Basics on animation and Extended includes Advanced. take a look Compare CS3 and CS3 Extended

photoshop cs3 extended does have "imageready" in a sense. in order to get the animation bar, simply go Window>Animation.
& as for saving it, go File>Save for Web & Devices... it's the same thing as "save optimized as."
hope i helped! biggrin.gif
