image map, how do you save?

in adobe photoshop CS3 how do you save a image map cause if you save as GIF it doesnt work and if you save for web and devices it doesnt work so please help

Well first off, what are you going to use the Image Map on?

I don't use photoshop for image mapping I just hand write it, so someone else is going to have to ask you about that.

uhmm. what are you talking about? I dont understand.. what do the different image file types have to do with imagemapping?

save it as .png and like holly said just hand write it

I have a basic code and directions Here

Are you using ImageReady or Photoshop to do the image mapping? Do it in ImageReady. There's a window that tells you the dimensions and lets you input the web address. Also, when you save, you can use the save for web feature but save images and HTML. That should be the default option if you've done the image mapping properly cause ImageReady will have recognized it. You can view the image map in a web browser to see it in action and to get the code. thumbsup.gif

Photoshop and Image Ready imagemapping is almost the same.
anyways...
here's a tutorial; ignore the actual image mapping part, skip down to number 5.

i have cs3 and there is no imageready

see i tried that but it doesnt work cause i am using cs3 instead of cs2
