Solid argument, some great anecdotes, and just a convincing modern manifestation. Dawkins is a good guy. Damn that "militant" atheism, making all of us look bad - pfffffffffffft. wink.gif

Ever read George H. Smith's Atheism: The Case Against God?

Oh, it's fantastic. Really, as goes any atheistic material, it's the best. It's the most comprehensive, convincing, and all-encompassing argument I have ever seen put to book. For having been written in 1974, Smith had a way of saying everything meaningfully, concisely, and appropriately. Sure, it's more of a synthesis than it is anything original, but that's pretty much the case in all modern publications on the issue.

And, if you want a suggestion (to begin), read Thomas Paine's The Age of Reason. The Age of Reason is an awesome example of The Enlightenment. Paine's hatred for Christianity at the infancy of this country's independence is sobering. Paine is convincing, passionate, and eloquent. Easily, after reading this, he became one of my American heroes. Paine is responsible for a good amount of the deism within our founding fathers and was a clear headed "patriotic" propagandist. A fantastic historical work and a short read worth every moment.

Any suggestions for me? I never get to all the reading I would like to, sometimes I need a sort of push or a pull.

There's a book being written called Magic! well atleast thats what there calling it so far.It sounds really really good. They keep you updated every once in awhile so thats cool.
Go to FreeWebs.com/Youreajerk
It sounds funny but its about a story being made about some abusive guy and his pregnant wife runs away sends him a letter saying the son had passed on and 20 years later the man goes to check the grave out attempting to become a new man or something to that effect but what he finds is the grave of his wife...
Its really cool
It's Suspense mixed with Mystery and Fantasy
So Star Wars meets Harry Potter according to them
go check it out

I'm currently reading The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum. I love it so far. Of course, the movie is way different, but this is worth reading.
