I had 4 around January. Atticus was the first to go when I actually changed the water. I guess the dirty water was good enough for him. After that, Henry Ford was having problems and I guess the other 2 just decided to eat him because all I could find was his skull connected to his back bones. Then, Scout was having some problems and I knew he wasn't going to last long. He died maybe 2 days later. Now, I'm left with only Hitler. I sometimes forget to feed him, but he seems to be hanging in pretty good.

My goldfish always ate each other. The last one would usually last pretty long though, I think the longest I ever had one was like a year.
My neighbor had a beta fish for like five years. It wouldn't die. |

I won one at a carnival and it lasted like a year. I didn't like him though. His name was Charles.

The longest they've lived was like 2 years, but they just swam on their back most of the time until they couldn't anymore.

Um, it really depends on each fish...I have one thats been there for months and months now, and then theres some fish we get that die right away because they just don't seem to like the tank environment. *shrug* |

Who actually dips the fishes in water while there still in the bag, when they are first bought.
Me i just throw them in there and hope they don't get a heart attack. |

WTF. 4 YEARS?
I remember I had like 10 or so goldfishes. Most of them dead in a month. Maybe the tank was kind of small? xD |

I had two gold fish that lasted about 3 years until I flushed all my fish down the toilet because I wanted a hampster. I feel soooo HORRABLE about doing that. I wish I could go back in time and prevent me from doing that. (Is their any way fish can still live even though you flushed them in the toilet?). I have to gold fish right now and I have had them for about three or four months.

As a kid, I had two goldfish for maybe two or three years; the other ones that came with it got eaten or just straight up died. I've learned more about fish recently, though, since my buddy has piranhas and my younger brother just got an aquarium. Goldfish are probably the most toxic fish (in terms of excrement) which is why when you have a lot of them, they die quickly.
In any case, now there are two guppies and two other types of fish in the tank downstairs (I can't be bothered to figure out what they are); there were three guppies, but one got sucked into the filter (like in Finding Nemo) and is now obviously dead. Go figure, eh? |

I'm not really sure... We have fish, and have had them for a long while, but they aren't really mine so I don't care.
There is only one that I named a few years ago, and he is still alive. |

I've had over 20 tropical fishes die in a year. I don't know what type some of my fishes were but I know I had a couple of angelfish. I keep telling my parents that fishes aren't our thing, but they won't listen and just keeping buying.

that reminds me when I was little, my dad flushed away all my gold fish. Then as an excuse he said, "They were going to die anyway" |
