So High School Class of 2007, are you ready to be the Undergrad class of 2011? HUH? People past freshman year in college, how was your first experiences with college?

Dorm essentials bought and packed? Got a new computer? Said goodbye to people? When are you moving in? Where are you going to? Nervous? Excited? Couldn't care less? What are you studying? Hoping to stay or transfer? First choice school?

I'm moving in around the 28th of this month to Boston University. I'm enrolled premed but I might switch to Arts and Sciences cause Premed is a useless degree... it's not even a degree really. But I'm really excited to be in Boston. It's like a great college town. I'm dorming with my best friend (even though we both took lengths to NOT be together in college). I haven't gotten anything I needed for college but hopefully I will before I go to BU. So excited.

awww freshmen!!! i know that feeling, i'm gonna be a soph at michigan state university and i move in wednesday! so freakin excited! so i figure i'll share my wisdom with you lil ones moving into the big time:

1. its not high school anymore!!! aka no one really cares if you're a freshman or a senior. it's if you know a senior to buy you stuff (lol). this also means that gossip and drama are to be left behind. yet again, no one cares and you'll end up with no friends.
2. make friends the day you move in! talk to your neighbors and just chat. everyone's in the same boat as you and wants to make friends. definitely continue to talk to those people throughout the year, because the more people you know, the more fun you'll have!
3. talk to some upperclassmen (or sophomores) about stuff you're unsure of. i can talk about my experiences but then again you might not have the same views as i do and your school will be different as well. get to know someone who's experienced and can show you the ropes.
4. have fun! yeah go and party your lil freshman pants off but be careful. be street smart and watch what you drink and watch your friends. a good way to know where the parties are is to go on facebook and see whats up at your school. also, well at my school, frats usually have some good parties that everyone is invited to. this is another good reason to know an older student. they will have the knowledge of where to go and then you'll be set!
5. be safe. don't go wandering the streets alone at night . use the buddy system and make sure no one goes home alone. also be careful hooking up. yeah it's safe to say it's gonna happen, but be smart. watch who your friends take home as well. crazy things can happen when you're intoxicated so have an eye open. if the person you're hanging out with seems creepy then they probably are. (that one was mostly for the girls) there's gonna be a lot of guys wanting to get some "freshman ass" so, be careful. also just because you hooked up does not mean you're a couple. just an fyi there.
6. study! the worst thing you can do is mess up your freshman year. yeah go to class and study. really, it's much like high school, but more reading and more information to cover in the time you have.
7. when packing only pack what you need, or what you use currently. i can't tell you how much stuff i brought last year went unused. just bring what you use now. you can always come home and get more stuff later. or you can buy it.

i had a blast last year and i can't wait for wednesday. just have fun and enjoy every minute of it. they say high school are the best days of your life, but they're wrong, college definitely is!!
if anyone has some questions, or if there are some MSU freshies out there, message me!!! i would love to talk to anyone! happy.gif

Am I the only one going to college?

Heading to Boston on the 29th.

^You're just making me even more impatient for college.

Freshman year of college was pretty much the most amazing year of my life thus far; I'm to be a sophomore this year, and I start classes on the twenty-seventh of September so I've still got time to just kick it.

Good luck with the one-way streets in Boston, and seriously, have the time of your life. :P
