Sailing The Winds

How can one suceed in life? Focus on the distant future, focus on tomorrow, or somewhere in between? Control over every detail of life, or leave it up to fate? It can be assumed that thousands of individuals have tried every possibility. For me, the most important part is recognizing the cusps, to understand when decisions are important and when they affect the outcome of everything. But, at times I will enjoy the moment here and now, others I will focus on the horizon. Akin to riding a bike, watching where one steps, reading a book while at the same time understanding the text, are all important for success. But then again, what do I know? What is success and how do I know if and when I've reached it? Well, that's for everyone to make up for himself. Success is relative: one's success may be another's failure and visa-versa. But in all cases, one must never get bogged down or the opposite, get starry-eyed. Like piloting a sailboat, the winds are in control and have a mind of their own, but a good sailor can go anywhere no matter what direction the wind is blowing.
