Which wireless pc card is better?, Verizon or Sprint.. or other? |

Just got a new laptop and can't
 decide which service to get the wireless pc card? Any suggestions? Help?!

If you just got a new laptop, I'll bet you don't need a wireless card. I've not seen a NEW laptop in a while that didn't have wireless capability already built in. Is it a Windows Vista laptop, by the way?
Oh, and if you're wanting to get one through your phone company.. well, are you sure? >.< It's really expensive when you can just get DSL, hook it up wirelessly in your house, and then any other time just use your laptop where there's a wireless network available. That's what I do. |

That's what I do. yea it does.. its the HP Pavilion dv6000 with the built in webcam and yup it has the switch button for wireless, but.. i dont no how to connect to a network near by. Plus i tried.. and their all password protected.. if i decide to "hop on" to someone's network. Yes, pretty much the laptops are all Windows Vista now, rite? I have Cingular but all I've heard is.. their wireless pc card isnt as a good as sprint or verizon. For my main PC.. I have Comcast  its great.. and we were thinking of just buying a router so we can use the Comcast network.. but then if we're far away from our house.. we wont have service from Comcast. I know what you mean about the whole "wireless network available" but so far.. here at my house.. everyone near by has a password or phrase to get into their network & they only have two bars  THANKS for the reply btw! Thanks Uronacid that graph was very helpful.. man Sprint is good.. in both upload/download. My cousin has Sprint but my experience with it.. lets say the connection gets cut off a lot?
