I've been making layouts and such for over a year...I love it but I can never get motivation. I always get ideas or start working on something then I either stop half way through or can't product anything that I'm happy with. I've been working on an actual website all summer; I know exactly what I'm doing with it but I get so bored and stop working on it for weeks at a time.
Whether I'm making a layout, graphics, whatever, nothing seems to satisfy me. I see things on here and other websites and say "AWWWWWEEEE I wish I could do that/would have thought of that" and get oober depressed about it. Not to mention I can NEVER figure out anything in Photoshop unless I find a tutorial. Am I not challenging myself enough? Or too much? Maybe It's just not for me? I don't know. I love it but it's just not working. Advice? Tips? Anything? |

I think that you're stressing yourself out too much. It happens to me, to be honest. There so much I want to do then I sit down with Photoshop staring back at me and I can't think of a single thing. Sometimes I think, well, maybe if I do icons for a while I'll get some motivation. 20 icons later and still nada.
What I did for a while is always have a little notebook handy. Whenever I would watch a DVD or TV and see something that would just make me bang my head, "EUREKA!" I would write it down. After a while there are many ideas and since you've written them down, it helps you sit down and get right to it. |
