Sort of confused Options

So I know this girl. Let's call her Mary. Ever since I saw her I wanted to ask her out on a date, but I never did, because of 2 things. I didn't have the confidence to do it, and I heard she had a bf. So as time went on I stopped thinking about it. Within the last week went by I started thinking about her pretty hard again. There was this big ceremony a lot of friends and associates of mine had to attend. She was there and after the ceremony I went up to her and I asked her to the movies. She just gave me this weird look, and she said this week? I told her next week. Then she said we'll talk about it later. This was Friday. On Sunday I went up to eat at her job, but I didn't realize she was working Sunday. So I saw her and suggested we go out on the day I have off, but she said she worked that day, and I said we should go out on my day off. She said she would talk to me about it later, because her boss was griping at her a little bit. So I saw her today walking in the rain. So I took my friend's umbrella, and I tried to catch up with her. But by the time I caught up with her she was inside the building. I told her I was trying to catch up with her, and not have be rained on, etc. She smiled at me, and said thank you. We were talking some more, and a mutual associate killed that moment. My point being though. Mary is a really pretty girl, but she's shy and soft spoken. Like when she's around her friends she's not shy. My thing is most guys that know her like her for just her looks, but I want to get to know more about her for who she is, etc. How do you think I could go about getting her out of being shy?
