I don't think I've logged on as invisible once in my life.

You know what's weird? When you see a guest Backstage and you're like, "wtf?!".

shut up. i just woke up.

privacy isn't the answer because aren't they supposed to be around to help? it makes them seem like they avoid things.

We should have a day where EVERYONE logs on as invisible. You wouldn't know who was here. Creepy!

^well i always know when rebecca is on because if you go to her profile, it still updates the time of when she was last active.

OMG SAMMI! WE COULD ALL LOG IN AS INVISIBLE AND THEN TRY TO BEAT THE MOST USERS ONLINE RECORD! KEKEKE!

Force of habit. :P I don't log out when I'm at home and I clear my cache and cookies once a month.

Well, if they were going to recieve a PM anyway, then if they ARE on, they will respond to it in the same way that a visible user was, and if they are offline, then it makes no difference, the same goes for replying to a thread.

Really, it makes no practical difference.

As far as 'why?' goes, I would imagine that it would be for the same reasons as anyone else who logged on as invisible... They aren't actually a seperate species with ulterior motives, you know. Although, admittedly, the tentacles can be misleading.

Well lets put it in terms of an anime like Bleach. Im going to use myself as an example. I am the protagonist of this whole ordeal. The mods are the most powerful MOFOs known to CB, so we regular members know we can't touch the mods because they have the power to get rid of us in one blow, by use of IP banning (etc.) They are just too powerful for our weak powers to sense. In order for me to get stronger I must become an official member. Chyeaaaaaaah.

Once I become official member I then make my way to staff and then admin. Then I will have the power to take on the admins. devil.gif , wait im the good guy. innocent.gif

To sum it all up some of the mods have mastered the ability to post and hide. I know this technique to, but I'm not powerful enough to master it yet. cry.gif

why is it impractical? if i wanted a quick answer, i'd PM a mod who was online. if i saw that 0 mods were online, when in fact 2 of them were active but invisible, i'd be irked.

Even it you consider it annoying, it doesn't have to stop you from PMing them (and it shouldn't). They shouldn't be irked by you PMing them either.

er, let me rephrase.

if i want a quick fix, i'm going to PM a mod that was ONLINE and not OFFLINE. who knows how long it would take the offline moderator to respond to my PM? there's more of a chance that the ONLINE mod would respond faster.

however, if i saw that no mods were online, i'd wait until a mod did come online so i could PM them. if it turned out that there were mods online, but they were just invisible, i would have waited in vain and i would be irked. who said anything about the mod being annoyed at me?

Meaning not a single mod is online or they just aren't on the online users list?

Edit: Oh, well, as Spencer said, it says in your subprofile when you're last online. I can see why you would be irked but it's really not a big deal.

well he said 'see' so that implies that they aren't on the user list.

to me (and i'm assuming to spencer), not a single mod being online and not appearing on the users list is the same thing.
