Ok, I went to the mall today, as i do on most days.
Every friday something eventful happens.
today, mat and maxwell showed up....They have been banned for 6 months, for carrying around a wet floor sign and yelling columnbine, all while nazi marching.

but they come back often still. the last time they showed up, the security gaurd told them they would be arrested.
SO they were unbanned in august, seeing as its august, they came back today.
They show up, stay for an hour, mat left, then max gets arrested for sitting in the food court talking to his freinds, HE DID NOTHING WRONG! AND HE WASNT BANNED FOR LIFE HE WAS UNBANNED.
So then we all rush outside to see what happens of course. then as max is put into the cop car, mat comes out of nowhere into the parig lot and walks up....he has great timing. so he gets arrested as well.
Then this is where my point begins to show up

some girl yelled "i love you mat", and then she got yeled at by the cop, WTF is that? then neo leaves and she says"TRY NOT TO GET ARRESTED NEO!!!"
then the cop walks over and asks in a very rude tone of voice:"do you wanna be next?"
this guy kenny was standing there, not saying anything at all, then the cop loks at him and get rude with kenny and asks if he wants to be next, kenny says "i didnt say anything" (which is true)
then the cop pulls out the hand cuffs and trys to cuff kenny,
Kenny's dad one of the cool dads that come to the mall still and was standing next to him.
his dad says, he didnt do anything wrong, i am his father and you have no right to arrest him.
the cop then threatens to taser kennys dad.

then jc said, wtf, you cant threaten to taser someone over what they said, then came over and talked to JC. he almost got arrested himself.

it was such an eventful night.



This could just be a power trip, since power does corrupt people. all the time. look at the dictators that the world has seen, havent they gone on a power trip thining they are nearly a god? The cop, or any officer has no right to arrest us over somehting that is said, unless you know, it is a threat or something like that, or a racist statement. but still,

Do we actually have the right of freedom of speech? I mean, if someone can be threatened to get tasered for asking what their son did wrong, do we really?

woah, that's harsh! And it's not like you can report authority to authority. It's like we can't even trust our authority . I think that cop is abusing his powers.

I have a similar story with mall cops. Gahh. But see, it's really not police in general - it's the mall ones.. Which is why I've told you repeatedly to stay clear of institutions such as that! I'm sorry to hear about your friends, though.

No, it wasnt the mall cops. THey were the cops that made the arrests, the only thing the mall cops can do is ban people and call the police. They have no real power, they are not cops, they are security guards. no power really.
they cant even go into any of the stores to kick people out.

HTere are two malls within 20 minutes of me, one is the one i always go to, the one i was dubbed mall god of, and the other is worst, and mat is always there...and i dont feel liek dealing with him. and the security guards wont take any shit from peopel there. AND I AM ALREADY BANNED FROM THAT MALLbut there is always an ACTUAL cop there, and he's always pissy, and always the same one.

first of all they had no right to arrest mat ....which he hasn`t done anything wrong in particular .....action has to go first before the arrest..there had do be a certain cause to what he`s been doing .. ...and so far it seemed both your friends havent doen anything .


i believe theres some sort of corruption in the government....but in a certain extent ....nah ...i dont think so .....i think most power comes from conservatives based on ther views...i think we have a lot of rights in this country ......rights only conflict with certain issues nowadays such as moral values .....but yea ....we`ve been given alot of rights since the 60`s more then some countries , the only problems were facing right now are cultural issues , identity issues ..etc. it also revolves around the national atitude depicted in society as well ....since Cops can be very pushy ...citizen can be very exploited as well ...its basically EVERYONE . ..there needs do be more assimiliation and understanding in this country .

Mall cops can be pretty stupid. We have this child guardian program in effect where kids under 18 can't be in the mall unattended after 6pm on weekends. I go on a lunch break and I CONSTANTLY get stopped even though it's obvious by what I'm wearing that I work there.

I think sometimes they think they're helping, but really they're making things frustrating

True, seeing as they were unbanned, they got a letter inteh mail saying they could go back in august, but they came back a lot while banned, so i guess they made the ban longer? i dont know. but then if they didnt, neither of them had any reason for being arrested. seeing as max was arrested for beign there, they were beanned the same amount of tiem, and on the same day.

ANd that parent after 6pm rule was oging to be enforced here as well. I would be so pised if it did. V_V

and steph, i told you about mat, he is jsut out of control, if he toned it down a bit then he woudl be ok. i can only take him in very small dosages.

Oh. I almost got arrested in an incident sort of similar put not really similar.

We went to the embassy suites because we had a reservation the night before but checked out that morning. We were hanging out in the lobby and we started eating their breakfast and I guess some how disturbing the other guests. Anyway so the manager decides to call the cops. She threatens us and we think she was just bluffing. The cops show up and we run for it. We were rollerblading around centenial park so I guess run for it wouldnt be the right term. Anyway we were stupid to think we could out balde the cops because they took their car and came after us. We didnt get too far so the cops stop us. They ask us where our parents are and we didnt answer so they hancuffed us and just then the manager lady comes up. She starts yelling crap at the cops and they let us go and have a "chat" with her.

Hm. Well I'm not sure what this proves but yeah.

But, as for your story: The cop just sounds highly unexperienced. He probably felt threatened by the crowd and wanted to establish a strong and badass level of authority. Instead, he just came off as a dick and was practically abusing his powers.

The first thing a cop should know is that he himself is not the law, he is simply an enforcer of it. And, as such, he is at the mercy of the law as well. Or, at least, it should be that way.
