QUOTE It's normal to worry about your pets or a favorite toy, but if there is a fire, you have to leave them behind. The most important thing is that you get out safely. It's also important to know that you shouldn't stay in the house any longer than you must - not even to call 911. Someone else can make that call from outside. Once you're out, do not go back in for anything - even pets. I was reading over some fire drill guidelines earlier (don't ask) but as soon as I got up to that part, I wondered if I would ever be able to leave my dog behind. ![]() For all you pet owners out there, do you think you would be able to part with them during a fire? I'd probably just take my dog and run. |

I was thinking about that earlier!
I definitely would not be able to leave without my puppy, but that's a challenge seeing as he sleeps downstairs. ![]() I'd probably risk my life to save him, though. I love him too much. ![]() |

I used to have a pet hamster. If there was a fire, I would never want to leave it in the burning house.

I was thinking about how I would get my dog out a window since he is like 60 pounds. I'd probably carry him or try to bribe him with a treat. I'm just too attached to my Tiger.

Rofl, I know I'm the worst person to ask about this..but I sure as hell wouldn't be thinking about no pets if my house caught on fire. I would roll out like Ludacris. LOL! Could you really live knowing that your puppy is burned into ashes, just like your home? ![]() |

Well, it doesn't necessarily have to be a dog. But think of leaving your little sister behind.

If I still had my dog, I'd probably leave it behind. Because my mind would not be on saving some beast that bit my ass fifty times a day. I would be definitely trying to get out of the house and not even thinking about an animal.

I could never leave my cat. Even if there were a fire, I'd have to find her before I could leave.

Lets just remove all the bad memories, and just think about that dog that you cuddled when it was just a wee bit puppy. Now, would you go save your dog? |

Suppose your sister is already saved, dog or no dog, hey!, it could be a cat. But its still a living breathing creature that grew up with you. It has memories and feelings as well!

Well of course, I would choose my sister. But it depends on the situation. If my brother were in the house, I would of course try and save him than rather go for my dog. But if the house were on fire, and it was just me and my dog, of course, I would try to save my dog.

Well, as for me, I'm really attatched to my dog. I've had him for well over five years. I couldnt bare the thought of not having him in my room in the morning. It depends on how attatched you are to your pet. Some pets act as human company for people that are lonely. In a fire, of course they would try and save their pet.

I don't think I'd feel silly dying while trying to save my cat. I think I'd feel badly afterwards that I lost my cat to a fire when I could have saved her.

It might not be the dog I'd grab, but yeah, on my way out I'd probably just be grabbin' random shit. But with my luck it'd probably be stupid stuff... like a box of lucky charms or something (you notice the irony?) and leave my lizard and my expensive computer and stuff behind.
Psht, I should just build a house out of the stuff they make those security boxes out of. |

SAVE THE CEREAL Man,thats something my sister would do.Shed be in a burning room and shes pull out a suitcase and take the time to fold all her good clothes and pack them up. |
