uhh idk if i should have put this in here but this is what happened to me.

I went to the dermatologist today to see if i could get a chemical peel and walks in the doctor. He was flamboyant as HELL yet saw a wedding ring on his hand. I saw this weird plaque on his wall and it was an oath. I read it and it basically said how they will respect "god and goddesses, not prescribe deadly pills or let a woman get an abortion..."
yeah, idk. i thought that was a red flag. Of course he's really happy sounding and i thought, oh ok maybe he's a nice person. NOPE. he asks what pills I'm on and i say a birth control for my skin. he gives me a LECTURE on how birth control is wrong and doesn't even work for your skin. rolleyes.gif i wasn't there for really my acne problems since i'm not breaking out anymore but for the fact of getting rid of my scars.
even though he was JUDGING me on something he wasn't even prescribing, i told him i wasn't using it for those reasons and JUST for my skin. when i told him he started laughing and giving me the sense that he was better than me and i was lying.

what really shocked me was the fact a week ago i saw a girl on tv who was upset because her doctor wouldn't give her medicine just for the fact she was on birth control. she too received a long lecture.

i wasted 135 dollars on hearing a hooked nose, closeted gay man telling me how birth control pills are bad YET HE HAD THE AUDACITY to suggest accutane even though that pill is off the market for horrible side effects like suicidal tendencies and does damage to organs.

To sum it up, he denied me the chemical peel and said all bad things about that too even though i spent months researching it and wouldn't let me say anything. he said the opposite of my findings lol. but what pisses me off the most was that he judge me and maybe denied what i wanted because of my birth control.

oh and the medicine he did write out for me were $300 EACH. yeah.. i didn't get it and i'm getting walgreens or walmart to call them up to see if can get any other medicine that won't blow my fricken budget.

has anyone else gotten lectures by doctors because of their religious beliefs? i didn't even know he did that..

Jesus Christ. I'm not surprised at all that a doctor would do this; some doctors are like priests. I think they all want to preach their beliefs and hope that they're changing the world one patient at a time. How bad are your scars? I think there are definitely cheaper ways to go about getting rid of scars and more natural than a chemical peel.

I get lectures from doctors all of the time about birth control. Similar to yours, I requested a birth control shot and wondered about the side-effects because I was also on other medication, and the doctor nearly rejected me because he told me that I should focus on academics even more. "College students shouldn't be out drinking and having sex. They should be studying, burying their heads in books, etc." In turn, I told him to just give me the god damned shot so we can both be on our way, and he complied.

my scars are just little ice pick kind. i can cover them up with makeup and stuff but why not better your skin if you have the chance? i know i can't fix it any other way. i was almost going to cry in front of the doctor but i held it in. the birth control makes me really emotional lol.

omg, your doctor said that? if he went into that specifics, i would have blown my head off but i was really hurt by what he said since i never got it before. i cried when i got in the car though haha and my dad told me he doesn't know me so i shouldn't get offended and i'll find another doctor. UGH

Nope. The only time I go to see a doctor is for contacts prescription. Cleaning for my teeth. And for flu shots, etc. I don't usually have any problems with my life or body, so it's all gravy.
