DIV and Friends list Options

Hey guys, im new to DIV, but I've had experience with HTML in the past.

I've got a page built, but I cant get the friends list to show. Im still learning how to do all this, and I currently have the comments section working, but that's only because I copied the source of my commments section and pasted it into the code. Ghetto, I know.

Today I've come across how to make the comments section visible. I tried making the comments section work that way, instead of pasting it in, but I cant seem to get it to work. I havent been able to find anything on getting the friends list to work.
