Got the idea off another forum. Actually, two ideas mixed into one. =.=

But like, basically, people who wanna enter.. enter. And then judges gather up all people and make them into teams of 3 or 4. Or they can do it themselves, iunno. And name the teams to make it easier?

And basically it's like a team work thing with judges who are strict on judging. And each 5 days or each week we get a new theme or whatever. Bleh.

Basically, the team works together in making graphics themselves independently, and once you think you're finished or w/e, show them to their teammates in help of improving. Once everybody is done, they pick one member to submit all of theirs to a judge and yeah, they'll judge by whatever they want (point system, closest to theme, whatever)

and stuff. yeah. brainstorming with other ideas. that's all i'm doing. xD

as far as groups though, it'd be cool to have different type graphics makers together to see what they'd come up with.

I freaking LOVE this idea. I was thinking we need some more contests, something to spark life up a bit.

I was going to put together a photo manipulation contest together, but this sounds really awesome.

I wonder if we can do both at the same time..

Anyways.

However. It isn't exactly a team thing, from the description that you posted, I gathered that it is more of a..team vote, if you catch my drift.

But I do like this idea and if we can definately format it better than I see no reason why we can't do this. :D

Well, we will deal with judging later, okay. We need highly experienced judges.

But we kinda also need CONTESTANTS to actually make the contest happen!

happy.gif yeah, same. What I'm just worried about is contestants and people loyal enough with groups. I hope this can happen maybe after the last myspace one standing. ^^" But I'm not sure yet: should the judges mix up the groups to allow different styles spread around designers? Or should they pick their own groups so that they're friends and are honest/loyal to each other?

OR it could be a collaboration with the teamates, and have someone start it, the next person add and fiz things, third do the same.
Collab between different graphic designers.
And switch the teammates up.

well i have the idea of any graphics. XD like could be signatures themed something like 'love' or 'food' lmao. or a photomanip? Or just some large banner for anything. Or try creating a logo representing your team. etc. I'm loaded with ideas for some reason. x_x" it's summer, my brain gets lots of rest. XD any input on this is appreciated though. lol

Good idea the only problem like already stated is contestants and they have to stay through. It seems like a contest that will last for a bit and yea. It reminds me of Designing with the Stars. I thought it would be nice if we brought it back up around summer time and this contest has the same theme. Except instead of star + rookie its a group. Even in this one the groups should be broken up fairly. Its a good idea though. :)

Whoever judges it as well has to be here throughout the entire process and dedicated to it as well. Just like whoever enters. pinch.gif (Only if it lasts for a while, which I'm getting the impression that it will)

well my impression of making it go faster is that instead having a neverending battle of one theme, it'd be like:

I don't know if that's how the Designing with the Star contest had worked. Haha. But maybe to also speed things up, have it one graphic (plus, I think that'd make judging more easily and i liked Jeng's idea for having it one graphic lol) and stuff. Hopefully it'd also go faster because, I hope, the people who enter have an idea of what they're doing with graphics so it won't be as confusing.

Designing with the stars started but never started. I thought we were going to bring it back in the summer but who knows.

For this one though I understand but if its going to be a team the team needs to participate in the graphic. I think thats what Thomas was saying. Like he said a chatroom or email whatever. But I think EACH PERSON in the team needs to add something to the graphic besides an idea. If they're not going to really help make it, its not fair really. And its pointless. pinch.gif it could be like a collaboration graphic. As long as it all blends in well thats good. I was going to say people can send the psd over from person to person so they can all edit. But I think at least more than ideas should be contributed by each member.

I think its a good idea though and the elimination etc is the easiest way to do it. Each round a team gets eliminated. It can be done by voting or just judges. Maybe for all the rounds except the last one it can be judges? then the final round can be voting. Kind of like CBNTM. Its up to you though.

Its a good idea though and I'm excited to see it put into play. Waiting till Last myspace .... is done is a good idea I just don't know how long its going to last because we didn't decide how many rounds we'll have .

Ahh. What? Designing with the stars never actually started? Lol wow i missed out on stuff. How many rounds will depend on how many people are willing to participate throughout the team process. >_>" haha. well, yeah, however the contest runs will be up to you guys. i just wanted to present something based on teamwork with people experienced. it looked very fun and great on the other forum to see all different kinds of graphic styles formed into something you had to work with other people on instead of based on your own opinion or yours and good friends.

Yea it never actually stared. We took in "application" type things for rookies and stars. We posted up round one but no one really did it . But it was during the middle of the school year so I don't blame anyone.

Yea so its really up to you guys. Whoever wants to start it should get together and create the basic rule formations etc. And if you need me for pinning threads etc or to help you guys out just tell me. happy.gif

I say judges over contestants. Here's my idea, for the beg. process like LMDS or whatever and the other ones we ask a few questions. Part of those questions will ask for maybe 3 grpahic examples.

Then the judges by skill put the teams together. That way its evenly broken up. Some great people and some not so great but still learning people. That way the contest won't be based on a grip load of amazing talent. Sort of like Designing with the stars it can incorporate people who want to learn more skills from the other people. It will allow for the sharing of ideas and graphic skills. And people can make new friends.

If there's a problem with the teams they can report it to a judge and yea.

lol that's what i was thinking. [the first part, where the contestants join in] i also like your idea of how to divide teams up.

as for fakers, the best i can imagine is well, obviously IPs. Since there are such thing as proxies and whatnot, though, post limitation is another thing. it's like on every contest though so it wont be surprising

I love this idea, but in order for it to work, everyone in a team would have to be using the same program, no?

Because Photoshop is wayyy too expensive for me, and I'd really like to do this...But not everyone has PSP. And I'm assuming that'd be a problem.

Unless I'm wrong.

Not really. If you send the psd I believe they should be able to see the layers? The only problem would be if they had paint then there may be a problem. If someone is using paint then it would have to be suggested that they use gimp or something of the sort. If they don't want too they can still use paint it will be harder for them to participate though.

Oh okay. I didn't know whether or not you could open a psd in Paint Shop Pro.
