For me it depends. Some sequels are just really bad.
But some like...Harry Potter are good. |

It depends. Sometimes they're as good or better than the first book, so then it's cool. I usually end up liking them even if they're not as good as the first, though.

I think it really really depends on whether the author sucks or not.

Most of the time, I cherish them because I hate it when a book ends; so if a sequel comes out, I'm very excited that the story can continue! :D
I am going to cry when Harry Potter finishes. The end is near. T_T |

I do , especially since I rather read a series over just one book. I love when stories go on and on and on. (you get the point)

yea, id agree. some are just..bad.
like those traveling pants books or those princess diaries ones. they should have stopped after the first. but the 2-3 other sequels for the face on the milk carton are fantastic! |

yea, id agree. some are just..bad. Really? I adored the travelling pants books. The first will forever be my favorite, but it was nice knowing that there'd be even more stories about them.like those traveling pants books or those princess diaries ones. they should have stopped after the first. but the 2-3 other sequels for the face on the milk carton are fantastic! I think there's really a limit to how many sequels there should be. There are exceptions *ahem*HARRY POTTER*ahem* but as a general rule, two or three more should suffice. |

It really depends. I liked the Travelling Pants... I was worried the sequels would be disappointing after discovering how amazing the first book was, but was definitely not disappointed. |

I've never really read a particulary bad book sequel. They've all been pretty good, really, in comparison to the original.
Sometimes the story *can* drag on, where in the previous book it was seemed to have been all but finished. I don't like that lack of flow, and usually I'll get annoyed. (But read it anyway.) Films and movies are different, but that's not for this forum! - James. |

I really don't like book sequels because they're usually not as good as the first one and something weird or unusual happens in them like the protagonist gets killed by the antagonist.

I usually really like sequels because I wonder what's going to happen next and how the author is going to develop the storyline more.
Unless the author is really bad...>_> |

I love them, except in the case of the 2nd Harry Potter book. But I guess I have been lucky to choose series who have sequels to them that I end up pulling my hair out waiting for them ^.^
