i define the bible as God's exact words. women are worse now than they were then. they did change the words in the interpretations thats how jehovas witness cult started. but the KJV bible had the interests of God in it. No God never graded it. in the bible it isnt mentioned as often as lying or being decietful. It is even spoken about in worse ways than being gay.

Over the years many pious people have butchered the words of god into something quite far from what he likely started out with.

/edit Jehovah's Witness cult? And women are worse? Why, because we're not mindless idiots who cook meals and pop out babies for life?

Also, here's a newsletter for the latest theories on homosexuality. Read this http://www.apa.udel.edu/apa/publications/n...0n1/lgbt/04.asp

Translations are not perfect, even though it seems accurate to you. How do you know it is accurate to someone else. As I said, people approach the Bible with different assumptions and thus they are opinionated.

it is an accurate translation from hebrew to english. there are always differing in the interpretation thus all the denominations but that debate should be a different thread.

Well I just wanted to point out that there are many possible theories considering the origin of homosexuality. happy.gif

Yes, but you can't deny that homosexuality is a psychological illness. It also might be possible that its a mutation. The Devil's advocate is at work here, trying to destroy the human race with homosexuality!!

People should stop trying to politicize lifestyle choices. I don't think one should vote based on issues such as gay marriage, abortion, religion, whether or not people can f-ck each other in the ass, etc. I have one attitude toward all that --leave everyone the hell alone. You may not like certain things about certain people, but don't assume you can tell them how to live. I female dog about other people, but I wouldn't try to make laws to change the way they act. Because even though those things bother me when I see them, in general they are not violating my rights. Enough people have died over these cultural differences and still people don't learn, or care. I still don't understand why the subject of gay marriage is still being debated. It's absolutely ridiculous. The ONLY reason it's being contested is because of the religious fanatics.

What if one's life style to is to cheat/kill/have sex with family members/teachers?

Laws are there for a reason, but as laws go, they'll screw some over, and they'll give advantages to others...

Although I am now somewhat neutral about this topic, I still don't agree to the saying that marriage shouldn't be regulated.

Sure we are, but you were bringing up the point that laws shouldn't regulate life styles... and well, homosexuality is as much of a lifestyle as eating rice, or incest and murder... is it not?

Look doll, my point is aslong as you're not mentally/physically hurting anyone, I don't see what's wrong with it.

Besides, I thought I was pretty specific when I said "I don't think one should vote based on issues such as gay marriage, abortion, religion, whether or not people can f-ck each other in the ass, etc.". I don't remember mentioning incest and murder.

Why didn't you mention incest? It's still a lifestyle.... are homosexual couples any more special than people who commit incest if they love each other?

I see your point, but I did say that I'm somewhat neutral on the subject.... the only reason why I said anything was because you said that lifestyle shouldn't be regulated... well, somethings are regulated for our own good.

Failed to mention it 'cause I know it would have started a whole 'nother debate. Kind of like what happened with us. wink.gif tongue.gif

Let's agree to disagree. Or we could settle this with a round of Battleship. laugh.gif

As I stated before. I support homosexuality 100%. I have a gay brother and gay family members. But the way I was brought up (Christian lifestyle) it's just wrong. I do believe that people shouldn't bash them because of their lifestyle and should support them also. They are people afterall. It's the same thing as if I had a brother who was a theif. Stealing is a sin just like homosexuality. But if my brother were to steal he would be forgiven more easily than to be a homosexual. Now that's just wrong!

(and for all the people who don't believe in God, sorry because I don't know how to debate this topic otherwise)

Marriage shouldn't be a legal concept ... if you love osmeone, go live with them. You should still have to pay your taxes just like everyone else.

Besides gay people are funny! Especially when they have a pride parade in Salt Lake City, Utah during national debate tourney weekend.

I guess I'm only looking at it from a cultural point of view. I've never actually think about marriage in the terms of law or getting tax breaks (seriously), therefore, the traditional definition of marriage only involves man and woman to me. Well, homosexuals can create a new tradition then, I suppose.
