i lost my virginity when i was 14... it was the ideal situation, but it wasn't anything catastrophic... i think that if you're being safe and actually thinking things through before you do it, then it's your decision to make... besides, everything happens for a reason right?

It doesn't matter how mature the 14 year olds are, at that age there is no way a baby can be brought up in an acceptable environment.

I say no, but this is a question that's always going to be answered with opinion, it's based on a belief, instead of an open idea. No matter what happens, there's always someone, thats going to say, 14 year olds having sex is wrong, than there saying having sex before marriage is wrong, and a sin, etc. etc.

I say, who cares, you only live once, you might as well live it the best way yousee fit.

Also, if you asked me, a 14 year old having sex, with someone a few years older, I would say yes, that is wrong, but thats just what I believe, because some guys are pathetic and like to fondle like girls, because there easy, and those guys are disgusting.

EDIT: I love how everyone says 14 year old are all immature, well in a way this is very true, but not every 14 year old is immature, and sex is usually a act that releases immaturity, or makes them more immature. In every way nobody is mature anyways, because the fact is, no body, can take care of them selves and immaturity is like a disease that you won't grow out of, so really, your always going to be a immature kid, even if you think your mature as you could possibly be.

Also, who cares about the age your having sex at, honestly?

Besides, the ONLY reason why people think its allright to have sex even in middle school and high school is our chanigng views that have been influenced by modern tv and music.

Now a days, we are gaing a casual outlook on sex. We see sex on t.v., implied sex, we are even writing sex on the interent. Think about it. Did this stuff happen back in the old days? Of course not! No 14 year old would even think about sex, never the less performiong it. Yet, the 60's created a change reaction, casual sex was a good thing. From there, it increased to intermingle with society to acceptance.
What is a 14 year old suppose to do when everyone around her discusses sex in various ways?
It becomes so common to hear that it only becomes natural! Of course, its so NATURAL that they can only tell their friends if they had sex (not their parents, they'd get in trouble!)

Its like growing up in a house where everyone smokes. Chances are, the kid is going to smoke too. Or if your smoking pot, and your parents would kill you if they found out.

At 14 years old, the kid knows that they shouldnt be having sex, since they WILL get in trouble. Yet, they do it anyways since its a common act and it gives them a thrill of exictment.

Love isnt involved. A 14 year old hasnt been in enough realtionships to understand the concept fully. They just rely on their expereince and feelings they have gained from their three years in middle school

There are so many perspectives on this.

I'll stick with a yes. I don't think you would have experienced life enough to understand that deep kind of thing sex is intended to be between two people.

If you feel you're responsible enough for it, then hey, that's you I suppose. But again, many fourteen year olds don't have their lives in order, prepared to deal with consequences if anything goes wrong.

my cousin (who i love and is one of my VERY close friends) had her baby when she was 14. i don't think any less of her for it, she's a wonderful mom, she still goes to school, and she still has a life.
it's not up to someone else to say what's right or wrong, it's up to the individual.

well personally i think at 14 you may be physically ready to have sex, but not emotionally.
plus if u break up with your boyfriend, which in most cases at this age your going to break up one day, then you've just wasted your virginity for your whole life.
But i'm not sure really, i guess its a personal thing some could be ready, some may not be.
