today was a crazy/scary day for me & the rest of my town
it kills me that someone who claims to be a student from my school left our principal a message threatening to shoot someone the day after the tragedy at VT.
what also kills me is what i heard about the message being found early in the morning and the Board of Ed knew about it before school began and so children of Board of Ed members were safe at home while me, along with another 1,700 of my classmates were left in danger, locked in our classrooms.

"Threat made against North Brunswick High School; school in lockdown

Home News Tribune Online 04/18/07

NORTH BRUNSWICK: Township police have searched North Brunswick High School and found nothing dangerous after a man claiming to be a student at North Brunswick High School left a threatening message on principal's voice mail this morning.

The caller said he was recently in an argument with a girl and threatened to do harm to students today at school.

Local authorities were at the high school this morning searching students with metal detectors as they entered the school. The school did not allow students to bring backpacks into the classroom, said Vincent DeLucia, a spokesman for the North Brunswick Board of Education.

The school was on lockdown after about 7:30 a.m. today. Parents are being notified and told they may pick up their children at 11 a.m. today. A meeting detailing the incidents will be held at 7 p.m. tonight in the school auditorium.

The threat comes in the wake of the shootings at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Va., where a 23-year-old student killed 33 students on Monday."
