QUOTE(Mulder @ May 6 2007, 5:44 PM) *
We are.

The Y chromosome is shrinking. There are less and less genes. When the cells divide the chromosomes always lose a few genes. However, only the Y chromosome is shriking at such a high rate, while the X remains relatively stable.

happy?

and that causes the human race to improve drastically?

They aren't supposed to be drastic changes. They're supposed to be slow changes over time.

i didn't ask if it was improving at the speed of light or anything, did i?
adaptations don't just happen over night. i'm aware of that. no need to tell me. _smile.gif

not to mention, i was just using evolution as an example.

ohh. i see.
but if the belief of evolution is true, why aren't we still evolving? accoring to the belief, we should be still evolving. _unsure.gif
What?

You were specifically inquiring about evolution.

i was using it as an example. i wasn't just bashing the belief because i actually agree with some of the arguments having to do with it.
that's not to say that my religion is completely correct and evolution, wlong with every other belief that is not mine is wrong. there's really no way to know, but as people have said, it's human nature to try and understand the logic behind it.

such a change hints that there will eventually be no Y chromosome at all.
Whether that means the extinction of the human species... I don't know.

It is happening gradually. Compare the number of genes on the Y chromosome today to the original number.

You won't be able to actually see the chromosome shrink. You do realize that...right?

How old are you anyway - because you're getting too emotionally involved.

I'm now starting to wonder about the truth of the bible. For instance, After Jesus was baptized by John the baptist, john see's the Spirit of God. God says to John the baptist "this is my Son, whom i love" Then in Mathew 11:2, John denies Christ...how can he deny him if he "knows and saw him"....

: In mathew 3:13-16 basically says jesus was baptized by john the baptist. After John

Matthew 3:3

13Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.
14But John tried to deter him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you,
and do you come to me?"

15Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to
fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented.

16As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that
moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like
a dove and lighting on him. 17And a voice from heaven said, "This is
my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

_______---_----------__---

Matthew 11
Jesus and John the Baptist
1After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went
on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee.[a]

2When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his
disciples 3to ask him, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we
expect someone else?"
