I don't get it because IMO, florida isn't really a good spring break vacation place. it's spring, and it has good chances of getting rain and thunder there because it's all the way in southeast (especially the miami area/bahamas) etc .... there's really no good places to visit there. in california, you get the hot/warm weather in the day and when you get tired of it, just wait till night, you'll get the cool breeze ... and there are more tourist attractions there. same thing with hawaii.

Don't ask me buddy, I live under a rock.
I spend my spring break in my room playing solitaire.

Yeah, why fly 9+ hours to get to California or Hawaii when you could get to Florida in three?

I think it's mostly people on the east coast that go to FL for spring break, though. Makes sense.

There is no need to go to California for me, since I'm already here. But I WOULD rather go to Hawaii and see its tropical, scenic wonders.

Well, I know most of my friends have beach houses in Florida, not Hawaii or CA. I think Florida is great for a 1-2 week vacation, but Hawaii and California are usually vacations for the summer (or 3+ week vacations). At least that's what I think..

Because I don't feel like spending every penny I make in a year or two wasted on just a few days or a week. Florida is amazing, IMO. And the prices are a f**king good deal. And it helps that Florida is 5 hours away from me whistling.gif

Because of Disney World, the Everglades, and the beaches. Hawaii's more expensive to go to, and I'm not sure about California. It's hard to explain.

Money... Location... etc. etc.
There are plenty people from here who aren't going to Florida but to other states. I plan on going to California sometime this summer... because Camp Pendleton is there and then I can see my brother. Haha.

Basically, its a lot cheaper to get there and its closer too. Many people might not be able to afford a vacation to Hawaii or Cali.

On top of the expenses and location, a lot of the time the flights to Hawaii and California are booked.

Hmmm. I'm wondering the same thing. Because except for a couple of places here, Florida's just a hole in the ground. It's nothing really special, except for places like St. Augustine, and a few other costal towns.

Maybe its just the distance that keeps people from going? Or airfare... it's alot more expensive to fly to Hawaii than it is to Florida/California.

i just got back from orlando and disney/universal. most days it was mad warm and only one day was incredibly chilly. first off, florida is cheaper than traveling allll the way to the west coast from nyc and the pacific ocean. we stayed in a privte condo and got to chill when we wanted to.

we got to embrace our inner child by going to disney world. I GOT A HUG FROM STITCH AND HE PLAYED WITH MY PONYTAIL!

^ I bet it was REALLY crowded though. I live around there, and refuse to go. I cant handle waiting two hours to get on a ride. Disney is really not a good idea - especially the Magic Kingdom.

Hope ya had fun though! Besides the crowdedness, its really fun. _smile.gif

Haha. Same here, pretty much.

I have no idea. I guess people like the beaches more? And Disney World's there.

yes it was fun and actually, it wasn't that bad for the waits (although it was crowded). we fastpassed many rides and did EVERYTHING we wanted to do. we had circled things on the map we wanted to see and we got to do everything. the longest wait we had was for splash mountain and that was only an hour. we even got to see space mountain (and skipped out on a 110 minute standby wait) in the same day - most people advise you to do space mountain on one and splash mountain on another. our waits for other rides ever got past 45 minutes. happy.gif don't refuse to go!!! disney is great even if it's crowded. you just have to be smart about the lines even if it's during high season.

universal on the other hand was mayhem. the rides were great but definitely not worth the 45+ minute waits. universal's fastpass/express thing is kinda stupid. for 50 bucks, you get to fast pass both Studios and Islands of Adventure but it's 40 bucks for one park!!! at islands, I only got to go on three rides. and two were water rides and it was like 40 degrees. i was freezing.
