So, almost all of us were forced to take art in elementary school. What was your favorite thing to do during art class or your favorite art project? ^_^
Mine was when we pretended that we were like da Vinci or those other Renaissance artists and we painted underneath the tables as if we were painting a ceiling. It was so fun! :D |

I remember when we had to make our OWN drawing of all of the fifty states without tracing anything. It was pretty fun.

Ahhh I can't remember what it was called or how to decribe it really...but it was like, we had different colored yarn or string or whatever and a litle wooden frame & we wound the string around it to make designs that looked really cool when they spun...haha that probably made no sense, but it was sooo much fun :D

OOOH we made our own 'fossils' lots of fun! We got some clay and pressed our hand down on it to make a hand imprint and then let it dry until it became hard. Then we went to the beach and burried them deep in the sand!

I can't recall the exact grade (3rd maybe?)but we had a kaleidoscope phase of art that I remember loving. We didn't get to make things with mirrors and such, but we had to draw and paint representations of kaleidoscopes. So for example, we were trying to recreate images like these:
http://www.brewstersociety.com/images.html I also loved doing the faux stain glass windows, using aluminum foil and plastic wrap. Something like this: http://www.kidsdomain.com/craft/sglass.html |

We used to like put a blob of ink on a piece of paper and blow it with straws to create a tree. Well we were SUPPOSED to do that...Everyone just sucked up some ink and spat it at each other. It was fun.

Hmm... I remember this project where we took a sheet of paper and randomly colored one side of it. Then we painted the colored side entirely with black paint. After it dried we used plastic knives to scrape away some of the black paint with plastic knives or whatever we wanted to create a picture of something.
I really liked art as a kid |

Mine was when we pretended that we were like da Vinci or those other Renaissance artists and we painted underneath the tables as if we were painting a ceiling. It was so fun! :D Ha ha, I remember doing that too. Aw, that sounds super fun. We never did anything like that. Papier-mache! It's soooooo cool! We used to like put a blob of ink on a piece of paper and blow it with straws to create a tree. Well we were SUPPOSED to do that...Everyone just sucked up some ink and spat it at each other. It was fun. We did in the 4th grade, and I was SO SCARED that the ink was permanent and would stay on me until I turned 80. I asked the teacher like every five seconds if it would ever come off.Hmm... I remember this project where we took a sheet of paper and randomly colored one side of it. Then we painted the colored side entirely with black paint. After it dried we used plastic knives to scrape away some of the black paint with plastic knives or whatever we wanted to create a picture of something. Aw, I totally forgot about doing that until now. Verrrry fun stuff.

I liked making stuff out of clay. I think it's because most of the stuff we did was with paper and paint and stuff like that.
We made pottery and sculptures and some of them turned out okay. I remember during December we sculpted our own snowmen out of clay. Fun stuff |
