Retaking tests

So we've all failed at least one test. If we're lucky, our teachers agree to have us retake the test. Of course, I'd jump the gun and take it right away.

Tell me how I got a 45% on my living environment and when I took a retest (I studied for this test for 1 week straight, my brains out!) and got the same. exact. grade.

ANYWAY, away from my rant.

Do you usually take retests? Or do you stay put with your grade?

Oh honey, if I get a terrible grade and I get a chance to re-take it, you can bet Daniel Radcliffe that I'll be studying the night before for a re-take.

It depends on my grade. A few years ago, I would've done everything I could to bring my grade up. Now, if I have a decent grade in the class, I don't really give it a second thought. It's incredible how my senioritis is becoming more and more active...

The last time I was ever given a chance to retake a test was sophomore year in World History. Needless to say, teachers at my school rarely let students retake tests. This one, however, was an exception. It was a test on the major religions (very in-depth and detail-oriented), and only three students out of all the classes passed (and it was high D's/low C's).

The retake was really easy though. We were allowed to work in groups (wtf, I know). So everyone ended up with a 100, I think.

^I LOVE group tests, they're a really good chance for people to work together and get a kick-ass grade.

Most of my teachers don't let us retake tests even if our grades were really horrible. If we're lucky the teacher won't count the grades or something, or instead count them as a homework assignment grade.

Wow. You all are lucky, in my classes, if I screw up a test grade, that's it...I don't get any chances to retake them and my teachers won't curve it.

I would definitely re-take a test if I bombed it. BUT. Most of my teachers don't give us that chance. For the most part, it's like, "Okay. That's your grade. Deal with it." And, I've learned to deal with it. Haha.

I've never had to retest, ever. It's because I'm always the person who gets a pretty good mark, 90% or above, while everyone else was close to failing.

I've always thought retests were incredibly unfair to the people who spent their time studying and ended up getting a high mark on it.

I don't usually retake tests. But, if I get the opportunity, then of course I'll retake the test.
Though whenever I get to retake the test, I'm always scared that I'll get lower score.

MOST teachers don't allow us to retake them. AT ALL. How sad. :[
but if I got a grade say below 80, I'd definately retake it if it was a given offer.

I hate some of my teachers retest because they make it a written test which is like double harder than mulitple choice.

I usually would take the retest if the teacher allows it even if it means me staying after.

I agree. Whenever we get some questions to work on in groups, no matter the subject, we always do well and learn more. It's best to combine everyone's knowledge, I think. It sure helps learning. _smile.gif

Same. My school doesn't allow retakes at all.
But if given the chance to, I wouldn't do any better. I just don't study at all and I still do pretty well in school. The only way I learn is by class lectures. mellow.gif

I retake a test if my grade is under 85, because it's most likely a stupid mistake or it can't hurt me in any way, so why not?

My teachers don't offer retakes often. I've only taken one... in math. I got a 35, but then retook it and got a 75 laugh.gif
