Well...I was going through my Add/Remove programs and i found these two fairly large programs and Ive never heard of them. Their called " Python 2.2 combinded Win32 extensions" and "Python 2.2.1". The little icon for them are little snakes...I dont know what they are. Im afraid to open it.

Python is a programming language. Win32 is an API (application programming interface, or something like that) for Windows.
I believe they're both necessary for your computer to run. They're DEFINITELY not viruses, I can tell you that for sure. |

Python is a programming language. Win32 is an API (application programming interface, or something like that) for Windows. I believe they're both necessary for your computer to run. Python isn't necessary for the computer to run. In this case, Python refers to the Python interpreter and the Python standard library, which can safely be removed—except you won't be able to run Python programs anymore. So unless you know you don't have any Python scripts installed on your machine, don't remove it. But nothing really bad will happen if you do. Pythons are the logo of the Python programming language, so don't worry about those. |
