yeah when my parents do crap like that i'm like wow you guys are dumb because you just put the idea of something fun to do, and it's more fun, since now it's "dangerous" and plus woo hoo i get to piss you guys off if you catch me! parents are so out of it.

I had a boyfriend when I was 12 and they didnt care. they knew I wasnt doing anything bad. I dont see why some parents get all cautious about letting their kids have bfs/gfs

my parents are like that. and yea i dont get why they say stuff like that when they know ur gonna do it. haha its funny just to make em mad. but seriously my parents are way overprotective so i just do it even tho they say not to. cuz my parents dont even let me do the littlest things. its ridiculous.

well usually when they tell you not to do it they expect you not to..if they dont set a boundary then they think its okay for their kids to do it so they do..and its basically they're way of teaching you their beliefs on what not to do, and what to do, and they're consequences.

My parents dont really say I cant do anything becuase they know if they said no its going to make me want to do it. They just gave up. Although they have some restrictions but not many. Also they dont care if I have a boyfriend because they think I wont do anything like having sex with him

^Cheech & Chong for those who have the inability to detect sarcasm :D And man, a couple of those posts were hard to read due to the purpose misspelling of 50% of their words. But anyways to contribute to the post. Girls have it way worse than guys it would seem :D Also I've seen cases where the people who are more social/active get the restriction, while as the people who always are polite to their parents and do everything they say tend to not receive the restrictions. |

Hah, oddly enough its kinda the other way around here.
My mum's still pretty young (34), & she's still doing the whole dating thing. So she understands what its like... in a way I think she almost wanted me to have a BF young, just so I know what its like and all. She knows I wont stuff up and go far... cause its the way she raised me. & in a way I think she just wants someone to reflect with :P Shes a social worker.. so yeah. Odd. I dont think I got my BF the way she intended though :) ahah. i was a horrible pre-teen.... i never really listened to my parents, and when i didnt i'd always get into arguments b/c they never trusted me [not even give me a chance]; i finally let into my mom [about having a boyfriend] when she never really wanted me to have one... she was fine, but my dad still doesnt know and doesnt want me to have one .. and im 16 ha
