Ever looked at someone and went, "Oh man, they're definately ___"? For some reason, whenever I go somewhere and I see a thai person, I can automatically tell if they are or not.

Has this ever happened to you? You know that they share your nationality even before they can speak or anything?

About seventy percent of the time, people say that it's obvious I'm Filipino. The other times I get Khmer, Mexican, and Vietnamese. The last one is the craziest. I am ten times darker than my Viet friends. nuke.gif

So uh, I TOTALLY misread everything there. stubborn.gif Um, yeah, I'm really bad with nationalities. There have been people I've known for years and I still don't know their nationality. Like, I never bothered to ask.

Its pretty easy in most cases since I am Black/African American (whatever people prefer). Its hard not to tell, but there are some people when its like uh maybe.... maybe not. Yea. But when it comes to other races, I suck completely. I thought my Thai friend and Cambodian friends were Filipino for the longest time.

I can mostly tell I guess if they're filipino. But I have been wrong before. People constantly ask me if I'm chinese, which I am, but I'm dominantly filipino. Then when they find out that I know a tad bit of tagalog, they're like, "OMG! You're filipino?!" Like, duh. rolleyes.gif (Ignore the Valley Girl bit.)

I can usually tell if someone's filipino from just looking at them.
My mom is so much better at it though.

Sometimes I can tell if other girls or guys are Korean,
but i can be pretty bad at it at times lol
I don't like assuming or trying to guess out loud, since so
many people do it to me. lol, I just really am not that curious
about it in the first place. And let them say something about
it if they must.

I can tell most of the time- about 90% of the time I'm correct. I'm chinese filipino, and I know right away when someone is filipino even before I talk to them, and when someone in chinese I'm pretty good in picking up if they are chinese. Although people think I'm either japanese or korean, but if they are right they atomatically think I'm pure chinese which is wierd cause I'm pretty tan for chinese.

Usually I'll know what someone is when I first see them. But it depends, mostly on their skin colors and features.

Not the same nationality as me, No. But sometimes I can tell what nationality people are.
It is a wee-bit hard for me, though.

Yes, I can tell Hispanic, Filipino, African American, and Chinese/Korean/Japanese people right away. European races are a bit tougher though.

I can usualy tell if someone's Vietnamese. I think it's because I went to school with so many of them and fewer of the other Asian ethnicities.

It's weird but I can't even recognize Chinese people. I guess I compare how I look since I'm Chinese, but I don't look like any of the people I know that are Chinese. Oh, and I can't tell the difference between Korean and Japanese people.
